Sharon encourages me to try new things that I may have previously thought that I couldn’t do. She brings positive reinforcement to working out which I like. I did have a gym membership in the past, but there was never anyone there to motivate or encourage me to keep pushing myself. My experience with Sharon has been great. Joining her Boot Camp and MET classes was one of the smartest decisions I have made recently. I am proud of myself and my accomplishments, and I can not wait to see what the future holds.

Losing weight and getting fit is not easy. It takes perseverance, dedication, patience and time. I am excited and motivated about the progress I have made. It's not just the loss of weight and inches but the overall good health and fitness/strength that I have gained under her training. I am not sure that I could have stayed as dedicated or achieved so much if it were not for Sharon, the support I get from my family as they see that I am happier and more energetic, and the group of women who attend Metabolic Explosion Training class. I am 32 years old and have worked for 10 years at Mercy Hospital Anderson as a labor and delivery nurse and for the past 2 years I have been working at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in an OB clinic with the indigent population. I grew up in a family where eating healthy and exercise were considered important, yet I have never stuck with a particular exercise routine over the years. I take both Boot Camp and Metabolic Explosion Training classes every week. I’m pregnant with my third child. I have a daughter, Jillian, who is 7 and my son Logan is 4. I did not exercise during my other pregnancies but I’m choosing to exercise during this pregnancy because I felt I was in a good routine prior to getting pregnant and hope to stay in a routine until (and especially AFTER) baby arrives. My other main reason for exercising in pregnancy is in preparation for labor and delivery. You wouldn’t expect anyone to run a race without some conditioning first, and the laboring process is no different! I chose to not take any pain medication or an epidural with my last delivery and it was by far my best delivery of the 2 and I hope to go natural with this baby as well. I also remember taking care of a lot of patients after their epidurals wore off. It was common to hear them say “I feel like I got run over by a truck!” Often, that has little to do with the epidural itself, but rather, people forget that just because you lose sensation (feelings of your labor progressing), it doesn’t mean your body isn’t still experiencing them. Being physically fit will allow for more strength and stamina during the marathon of labor, regardless of my method of pain control. Of course, I’m also hoping to lose the pregnancy weight a little faster!!! In fact, after having our baby, I hope to jump back into my exercise routine as quickly as possible and get my body back to its pre-pregnancy state. And by pre-pregnancy state, I mean prior to baby #1! I also enjoy seeing people’s reactions when they try to help me because “you’re pregnant,” and I tell them “I got this, I’m still doing Boot Camp!” If I could give some advice to other women who are pregnant or who are considering starting a family, I would tell them to take it one day at a time. There will be days of ups and downs, but try to get some type of exercise in most days of the week. Also, don’t beat yourself up if you miss a few days or even a week, there is always tomorrow or next week to look forward to feeling better. Remember, your little one is dependent on your health and well-being! Update: My son Hudson is now 3 months old. Exercising helped me to have a fast and easy labor and delivery. I’m telling you, my baby basically fell out! Woohoo! I’m not sure if exercising has anything to do with the amount of milk you produce when you are breastfeeding, but I find it interesting that I am producing an enormous amount of milk with this baby. I did not exercise during pregnancy with my other children, so I’m able to compare. I like to think that exercise or just being healthier has something to do with it, so if that helps others to start or continue an exercise routine, then we can just assume it’s true! I returned to taking MET class twice per week and the treadmill or elliptical 3-4 times per week. I feel great! If I could give advice to women who are pregnant or who are considering starting a family, I would tell them that if you aren’t exercising, start! If you are exercising, just continue to do what you can. Every little bit helps. There were days I would come home from MET class or Boot Camp and collapse on my bed and have my husband pry my sports bra off of me, but mentally I felt like I accomplished something even if I only did 2 burpees in 40 seconds. And post-pregnancy? Get back into your exercise routine. The fun times in class and support from other women is great to have. That goes for anyone, whether you have kids or not. We all need a place to go where we feel comfortable and can have fun and for me that is MET class and my fellow MET classers (or Boot Camp).

Thank you Sharon, for pushing me in Boot Camp! Your classes have improved my physical fitness, strength and 5K time. I was able to shave 2 minutes off my 5K running time. I have been trying to push myself for a faster time for over a year now. Boot Camp class twice a week has made that happen in 10 weeks.

Before I started Boot Camp I felt I was losing all the strength benefits I had worked hard for and I could not replicate on my own. I really needed to get back into shape. I didn't like the way my body was beginning to look and feel. I'm not getting any younger so Boot Camp sounded like the perfect solution. It is obvious that I enjoy Boot Camp as I am about to start my 6th session....I look forward to the work out each week because I feel great afterwards and I can tell for a couple of days after that I worked out from head to toe. It is also a great stress reliever and a great way to clear your mind. I really enjoy that you'll give nutrition tips because that is definitely not an area I am strong in. However, as an ex-college athlete this is the first work out I have found that really challenges me to push my limits and I always seem to amaze myself when I try something new. I am beginning my 4th year of Boot Camp. I initially joined this class because I wanted to find an exercise program indoors during the winter months. I have never left though due the amazing results. Now I feel stronger and more fit than anytime in my life. The 'fitness' feelings last for days after each class. It is the most comprehensive workout I have ever tried. Committing to scheduled class times and participating in a group keeps me on track. I have legitimately lost 30 pounds and Boot Camp helps me maintain the loss.

I am 46 years old and I have played sports and figured that was a good workout but still never lost the weight. I was very hesitant to join Boot Camp. I figured with how heavy I was, I couldn’t do it. I was wrong. Don’t get me wrong, it was extremely hard. I thought I was having a heart attack on my first day. It did get better but with a lot of work. I feel so good about myself after each Boot Camp class. Every workout I feel is an accomplishment for me. I have lost 30 lbs. on Meal Plans and went from a size 22 to 18 but I would like to lose 30 more. My next goal is to lose the belly fat. My other goal is to be able to join Sharon’s Metabolic Explosion Training class. I am even thinking of trying to run in a small marathon at some point. The way I feel now compared to how I felt a year ago is what motivates me. I used to lose my breath playing my sports and even doing everyday work like cutting the grass but not anymore. It makes it all worthwhile when I haven’t seen someone in a year and they tell me I look great. That is a great motivator!! My friends have told me that I seem much happier since I have lost the weight. Sharon has been a great motivator to me and has always given me support. When I have struggled she has always talked to me and has sent me motivational emails. She doesn’t put up with my crap. I owe a lot to her. In the past, I had tried Diet Center, Nutri-system, Jenny Craig, Richard Simmons Deal a Meal, Weight Watchers, I tried Sensa, a couple of products I ordered off of the internet, I joined Golds Gym, Victory Fitness, many other diet centers that have gone out of business. I am not sure why they didn’t work. Maybe because I really wasn’t ready to make the commitment to lose the weight. I think the reason Boot Camp has been successful is because I saw results right away which made me more motivated to keep going. I didn’t see results with the other weight loss programs I tried and that is why I quit them. I started the Meal Plan in February and having a plan telling me what I need to eat each day made it much easier for me to lose the weight. The plan was very easy to follow and has helped me understand portion size. Before starting it, I always felt guilty for what I had eaten. I enjoyed eating it at the time but afterwards made me feel guilty. Portion size meant nothing to me. This Plan has shown me that food that is good for you can also taste good. It has helped me tremendously. I am in a routine now and I make everything ahead of time so it is ready the next day. No excuses. I feel good. I am learning that I don't need all that junk food to make me happy. I'm not as tired as I used to be. I feel a difference in my clothes and I don't have to take my heartburn medicine every day. I would recommend a Meal Plan to others because IT WORKS!!! I would and have recommended Sharon’s Boot Camp class to anyone. I can’t thank Sharon enough for sticking with me and helping me out when I needed it and even if I didn’t think I needed it. I still have a long road ahead of me and it isn’t going to be easy. Every day is a struggle but with Sharon’s support I know I will be able to accomplish my goals. I am glad she has stuck with me.

Since I have been in Boot Camp, my PSA level has actually dropped. This is despite the holidays and its associated bad health habits, and a pretty stressful time at work. Boot Camp is the one real change. My wife does make an effort to make sure I eat right and get enough sleep but I am older and stubborn.

I’m 32, have been married for 3 years, and my husband Matt and I are expecting our first baby later this year. I’ve always struggled with my weight but have made a good effort since college to be active. Usually this involved things like walking, light weight work, and the elliptical. Last year I decided to try Boot Camp, and liked it so much that I also added Metabolic Explosion Training class. I’ve noticed a huge difference in both my endurance level and my strength. I’m continuing to exercise during my pregnancy because I want to try and maintain the fitness level that I’ve built up across the past year. From research and talking with friends, I’ve learned that pregnancy can be easier and more comfortable when you stay active. During my pregnancy, I’m aiming to gain no more than 18 pounds. A funny number, but this is within the recommended range for my size and, as long as I am able to maintain the same, or a similar, level of exercise throughout and eat relatively well, it should be doable. I also want to continue building strength in my arms and back, as I know that will be helpful when I start toting around our baby. Growing strong enough to do “real” push ups consistently will help with that. And the bear push ups are helping with that goal! If I could give advice to other women who are pregnant or who are considering starting a family, I would say that if you want to stay fit and proceed with your regular exercise routine – do it! I’ve had a great pregnancy so far, and know that this has helped. I’ve had a lot of people act surprised that I’m still going to Boot Camp and MET while carrying a baby, but even more people have been impressed and supportive (which feels good!). Ask your doctor if you have any concerns, and be specific about your activities. It made me more comfortable to get my doctor’s buy-in. Asking questions and getting their advice also helps me to respond when people say things like “you shouldn’t do any exercises on your back – it’s bad for the baby”. So many of those comments are misunderstood or blown out of proportion. In general, my doctors say I can proceed with my normal routine – you just need to pay attention to your body and know when to slow down/back off/take it easy when needed. And so far, so good! My husband recently started taking Boot Camp as well. It’s been fun and encouraging to do this side-by-side, and I think it will continue to motivate me as my pregnancy proceeds and my belly gets bigger. It’s nice for him to see what I can handle, too! Update: My daughter Dagny is 10 weeks old. My last MET class was 11/10. I chose to stop then as my due date was 11/18, and I was becoming anxious about when and where I would go into labor! For the most part I still felt comfortable in class, though some exercises were becoming more difficult. I had a wonderful pregnancy, and I largely attribute that to my exercise regimen. I wasn’t sick, I was comfortable despite my growing belly, and felt pretty energetic most of the time. I also had a speedy labor and delivery. From the time my water broke to the time that Dagny was born was a total of one hour and 35 minutes. I can’t help but think that continuing to strengthen my body with exercise throughout my pregnancy played a role in a great birthing experience. I also felt really good afterwards – a few of our hospital visitors commented on how I was already up and about! At 6 weeks post-pregnancy, I returned to taking MET class twice a week. I feel great! The first week back was a little rough on my body, as expected, but my soreness lasted only a couple days. Sometimes I still feel a little slower than usual, but I’ll get there. Overall, I think it’s been going very well! If I could give advice to other women who are pregnant or who are considering starting a family, I would tell them that if you are already exercising – stick with it if your pregnancy allows, and ask your doctor if you have any concerns. During my pregnancy a lot of people in my life expressed concerns about me continuing my exercise routine. But, all of the doctors at my practice agreed that I could continue my regimen (whatever I had already been doing) as long as I felt comfortable. I did, so I kept going, and I am so glad I stuck with it. For someone who just had a baby? Don’t be afraid to get back to exercising! As long as your doctor approves, it can help to increase energy and feel like yourself again. Plus, it gets you out of the house! We all need a little “me” time. Sharon and my fellow Boot Campers and MET classers were a wonderful support system for me. It was so motivating to hear their kind words and thoughtful check-ins throughout my pregnancy, and afterward as well. It definitely inspired me to keep coming back! Thanks to all of you!

Initially when I started, I wanted to lose about 15 pounds. When I got close to reaching that goal, I wanted to lose an additional 10 pounds then maintain the loss. I also wanted to improve the strength of my core while also toning this area. I’ve lost 20 lbs., dropped 5% body fat, and lowered my BMI by 3 points, and have kept this off for more than a year. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being “really hard”, I would give this process a 2 as it really wasn’t all that hard once I was focused. The key is to maintain a weekly workout schedule and do a little bit of planning ahead when it comes to meals for the week. I feel great! My strength, flexibility, and stamina are very much improved. I am in better physical shape now in my 40s than I was back in my 20s. I especially enjoy going shopping and looking at medium or small tops instead of the old me that had to get large or XL, not to mention buying size 10 pants, skirts, and dresses when at one point in my life (about 7 years ago) I was wearing a size 18. My greatest fitness accomplishments are my improved strength, especially as it relates to my core – holding plank, side plank, and T ups for longer lengths of time. Also, improvements, although small, with my push ups. I enjoy feeling energized and accomplished when I complete a workout. I feel better about myself and have higher energy levels that make me more productive. I also want to set a good example for my family. The women in my family have always battled weight, and several are currently experiencing problems with it right now. I am hoping that I might inspire or help them to make changes towards a healthier lifestyle. Prior to working with Sharon, I had a gym membership but there was never anyone there to motivate or encourage me to keep pushing myself. If I could give advice to someone who is hesitant to start, I would tell you to focus on something or someone that personally inspires you to be your motivation. Not only do you need to be ready for the physical aspect, but mentally you have to be committed to the challenge. You have to want to make a change. Find a friend, or better yet a trainer that can encourage you through the process. For me, when working with Sharon, I feel like not only am I accountable to myself but I am accountable to her too. As much as I don’t want to let myself down, I don’t want to let her down either. Sharon encourages me to try new things that I may have previously thought that I couldn’t do. I do modify it a bit from time to time, but I feel like I have found the path to help me now maintain my weight loss. I started working with Sharon in Boot Camp and added Metabolic Explosion Training classes just a few months later. I now feel stronger and my arms are more toned. I was able to join my teenagers by climbing out of the water and up a rope ladder while on vacation and I could not have done that before. My golf game has improved. I have more control and I am able to get more distance. I run occasionally with friends and even without consistent training I can keep up for shorter distance runs. In the past, I had dislocated my left shoulder twice and always felt that my left side was weaker. Now I feel just as confident with my left as my right side. If I could give advice to others, I would tell them that working out with a small group is very motivating. Sharon keeps the focus on proper technique to avoid injury and is able to modify the exercises as you build strength.

I’ve been working with Sharon for 2 ½ years. I feel great! I have lost weight and have gone down in clothing sizes. When I began Boot Camp I was in a size 16, almost going into an 18, and now depending on the brand, I can fit into a 6, 8, and 10. I don’t like my clothes tight so sometimes I choose to go up a size. I am a lot stronger now too. I worked out in the yard a lot this Spring – mulching, pulling weeds, and raking – and I could do it without stopping. It was a lot easier than it had been in the past. I can also now walk the 5 mile trail and add miles to it without a problem. The hills still kill me but I can do it without stopping a ton of times. When I’m on the treadmill or on the trail I can actually run some of it, so that makes me happy since I’m not a runner at all. I was scared to death when I started Boot Camp. My friends had asked me to join it, and I said “no way because it sounds too hard” and I didn’t think I could do it. I went anyway, and at first it was really hard but I never gave up. If someone else is finding that class is hard, I would tell them to just keep at it because it does get a lot easier and you will feel a lot better. You will also be very proud of yourself after you do it for awhile. I love Boot Camp, and have made some good friends. I have Boot Camp scheduled in my calendar, and people know not to schedule things for me on those nights because I won’t be there until I finish Boot Camp class. I do this for myself and I am so very happy that I started! This is my time and I am so glad that I am getting healthy. I still need to lose more weight and tone up certain areas of my body, and I know that takes a lot of hard work and determination. Sharon, thanks for keeping me motivated, and I’m glad I started taking your class!

I would like to thank you for your Metabolic Explosion Training classes and your Meal Plan. I thought I was in good shape but always knew I had been in much better condition some time ago. Being 47, I knew I needed to work harder to get back to not only where I was feeling good but better than I was before. I have seen guys my age and older that look and do things I did 30 years ago. Now it has only been 3 weeks but the greatest difference is in my diet. Your slogan "Abs are 70% Diet, 30% Gym" is no joke. I have more energy now that I am eating clean. The Meal Plan you designed for me has helped keep me going throughout my workouts and at play. I used to mountain bike two courses - a beginner course, then rest for 10 - 15 minutes while trying to catch my breath. Then I would start the advanced course and feel like I was going to die. In only 3 weeks of taking MET and following your Meal Plan, I was able to complete both the beginner and advanced courses without a break, and felt good afterwards. I could have gone another round but was limited on time. I am able for the first time to perform push ups while balancing on 4 medicine balls. And while I still have a week to go before I step on the scale, I feel stronger. I try and tell myself that same quote you have over your studio door, "It never gets easier, you only get better" and that is the truth. Thanks again for your knowledge.

I would like to also say thank you for the encouraging words again last night during Metabolic Explosion Training. I was thinking exactly what you said - about 6 weeks ago or even 12 weeks ago, how much of tonight's workout I could have completed. Keep up the great work and variety of workout as it makes it fun and enjoyable to workout!!!....Tonight at volleyball I did 2 things that I have not even tried for years. First one was blocking and I actually did get a block! I have not blocked (or even attempted to block) anyone in so long that I forgot what it feels like!!! AWESOME!!! Second was actually jumping and spiking the ball down with authority. I have been just standing and hitting the volleyball. My timing and legs just never seemed to have the energy or strength to jump. My team was as surprised as I was!
I have been an athlete my whole life, being active has always been an important part of who I am and how I see myself. I played college volleyball. Since college I have continued to play sports as much as I can. I have most consistently played indoor soccer. I started taking Boot Camp about 2 years ago and added Metabolic Explosion Training class about a year later. I did it because I found myself wanting more. I wanted to add another class during the week and get rid of my gym membership. I no longer felt the need to go to the gym when I was getting such a good workout with Sharon. I also really like the idea of adding weights, stability ball, TRX, etc. to my workout. These classes are the best workout that I have found since I graduated college. I had been looking for something like this for years and once I found it, I didn’t want to stop. I became addicted and it became a part of my normal routine. When I have to miss a class I feel like something is missing! I feel great after every workout! The workouts are always different and go so fast! I look forward to the workouts each week because of the people I have met and it doesn’t feel like a chore. Several months ago, I learned I was pregnant, and after talking with my doctor, he gave me the only green light to stick with my routine. It was the best decision I made. I quickly realized that I often felt better after working out. Therefore, it was never a hard decision to make it to class each week. There came a time during my pregnancy where I began to modify my workouts because I no longer could do an exercise like I could before. For example, laying on my belly to do superman/banana or when my belly grew too large I could no longer do narrow stance squats. However, this did not stop me or Sharon to come up with a replacement exercise. Sharon was always very attentive to the modifications that I needed and made sure I was okay with what I was doing. We had open communication and she provided me with an environment where I felt very comfortable in. Sharon was awesome throughout my entire pregnancy! She was always very supportive and proud of me for just showing up to class. However, this did not stop her from pushing me to do my best, regardless if my best was one push up or 15! She knew that I wanted to continue to work out and it was very important to me so she helped me achieve this goal. During the last few weeks of my pregnancy, I still felt comfortable in her classes. Everyone I was in class with could not have been more supportive of me and encouraging! They always expressed how proud of me they were and that I was a role model to them because if I could work out while pregnant they could do it as well. I feel like it pushed everyone to do a little bit better. I also knew that it didn’t matter what anyone else in class was doing. I had to always do what was best for me. If I couldn’t perform an exercise it didn’t mean I was out of shape or less of an athlete. I had to look out for myself because it was no longer just about me – I had to do what was best for my unborn child. I had a goal to work out my entire pregnancy and I achieved that goal. I went to MET class on Sunday and delivered my daughter Willow on Thursday! I also returned to classes when I was cleared by my doctor.

In 12 weeks of online coaching, I've lost 15 lbs, 3.5" from my waist, 3" from my hips, 2" from my chest, 1" from my neck, more than 1/2" from each bicep, more than 1" from each thigh, and 1/2" from each calf. Clothes are continuing to get bigger, which makes me happy.

Boot Camp is a great way for me to relief stress and I can challenge myself on different levels. I am able to push past my comfort zone because others around me are doing it. It is a great motivation for me. I hope I can keep up this lifestyle I'm trying to make for myself and I appreciate the part that you have played in helping me get there!
I would recommend Metabolic Explosion Training class because it is an awesome workout and there is always something new! It is a class that is never boring!
You do a great job of explaining the exercises in Metabolic Explosion Training class, and pushing me to go further than I think I can. The exercises are not monotonous and predictable. I have seen great improvements in my strength and flexibility. I couldn't do a wall sit for 20 seconds when I started, now I can do it for a minute....I have more energy, and am more confident.
I would recommend MET class because it pushes you to the next level. I have done workouts in this class that I would have never tried or thought I would be able to complete. When Sharon tells you that you can do it, she's right...you can!

While the notion of "Boot Camp" sounds intimidating that is far from the reality. I have enrolled in multiple sessions of Sharon's Boot Camp. It is a full body workout. There is always something new to learn. Sharon provides alternatives to exercises for individuals who want more or less of a challenge. It is always great fun, a great workout and provides a great sense of accomplishment after every class. Yes, it's GREAT! Everybody is supportive of one another, including Sharon. She is a great instructor, knows her stuff and consistently brings something new to the table making it fun and interesting. She has a lot of knowledge and is always willing to share her advice or opinions on questions or concerns expressed by class participants. The biggest plus is that Sharon is supportive of our wants, needs and challenges and does everything she can to accommodate. She has no "expectations" of anyone other than working with you and moving you forward to the next level of strength and endurance.

I am 49 years old and the mother of three teenagers: 19, 17, and 14. Four years ago I was at my highest weight ever. Life had dealt a few blows and I reacted by eating. I would get winded just walking from the parking lot into my school building. Eventually, I was able to lose some of the weight but couldn’t lose the rest. That’s when I met Sharon. The first day of Boot Camp I could barely do the short run “warm-up” out on the grass. I couldn’t do a push-up and had no core strength. After working with Sharon for almost two years, I can run a mile without stopping, complete different kinds of push ups, and have dropped several more pounds. Most of all, for the first time, I truly understand this is a commitment to a new lifestyle, not a quick fix. I enjoy being healthy - having my clothes fit and not having to worry about what I can squeeze into every morning. I am happy knowing that I am healthy and getting stronger. My family has a history of heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and obesity. I know that I have to make good decisions in order to stay healthy. Before working with Sharon, I had worked with personal trainers at two different gyms, taken aerobics, tried kick-boxing, running, walking, home workouts, and spinning. I never stayed with one thing long enough to see real results. I’m really not sure why. This time I was ready and knew I had to make changes in my diet and my level of activity. Even so, with Sharon I truly didn’t think I would have this much success. The first few weeks were hard and I did not want to return. The reality of how weak and overweight I had become was a difficult thing to accept. But knowing what I know now, I would have started this years ago. When I first started with Sharon, my son asked me, “Why now?” He thought I was too old to make a life change. He made me even more determined to do this. Why not now? If I could give advice to others who are hesitant to start, I would tell them to just DO IT! Do not compare yourself to others. Celebrate your accomplishments and keep pushing yourself. I like that Sharon addresses our diet as well as our work out. She educates us about the food we eat and heavily encourages us to make better choices. I'm so thankful to Sharon for providing direction and making me sweat more than I ever thought was possible!

I’ve been taking classes with Sharon for 2.5 years and I feel great! I had a back injury 4-5 years ago that I’ve “babied” and worried I couldn’t do a lot of exercises. But I’ve found that taking Boot Camp has strengthened my back and core muscles and has helped alleviate a lot of my back pain. And with dropping a few pounds my knees feel better too! I feel stronger and leaner. My upper body strength has greatly improved, as well as a lot more toning of my thighs and butt. I can walk a lot farther and faster before feeling tired. I feel like I stand taller and more proud! I had wanted to try a Boot Camp type class for a long time but was very intimidated. I was afraid all the other class members would be really young and fit, and I would be uncomfortable exercising around them. Luckily I had a friend ask me to take Sharon’s class with her and I gave it a shot. What I found was the class was filled with a broad range of fitness levels and body types and a lot of the participants were just like me! I love that you are so focused on pushing yourself as hard as you can that you don’t pay any attention to anyone around you – which lets you know they aren’t watching you either so you don’t feel self-conscious. I have also found that taking Boot Camp and Metabolic Explosion Training classes have been a great way to make me more accountable. When you make a financial commitment to these classes, it makes you show up which is half the battle. I also love the camaraderie of everyone in the classes and I look forward to going to class to see what we will do each time as it is always different. I used to dread going to the gym and often never made it. I’ve really enjoyed working with Sharon and I like her style of teaching. She’s not overly aggressive or pushy but encourages you to push yourself and be accountable. I find that I want to make her proud and not just please myself. And I’ve noticed my daughters taking an interest in doing more exercise since they see me going to classes and feeling more fit.

I began using Sharon’s Personal Training services because while I’m an accomplished professional, I need accountability due the fast pace of my life and often conflicting priorities. In short, I came last and was often too tired or unmotivated to workout. Before I started working with her, I felt unhappy with the way I looked and felt, low self-esteem and confidence. Now I feel better about my appearance and overall feel healthier, however I know I still have a way to go to get to where I want to be. For gym class, Grace was first in her class for sit ups. She was very proud of herself and knows working on core strength in Personal Training sessions with Sharon was one of the reasons she did so well. She was a little disappointed that a boy beat her in push ups by 2.

I began using Sharon's Personal Training Services because a class she was instructing at Beechmont RecPlex was canceled. I had four Personal Training sessions, and my goals for those sessions were to see some increase in flexibility and to learn some exercises that I could do on my own. I did reach both those goals.
The four sessions were very well planned in advance. Each session was devoted to one area: 1) stretching and warm up; 2) lower body workout; 3) core workout; and 4) upper body workout. The exercises were challenging, but she had a good sense of what I was going to be able to accomplish. Once the class meets, I feel like I will be able to get more out of it because of the one-on-one sessions.
I would definitely recommend her Personal Training services to others. Three things are important when hiring an independent teacher: 1) Do they know the subject and have an ability to teach it? 2) Are they professional; do they keep appointments and communicate their terms clearly? 3) Do they have the ability to instill confidence in you? She gets an A+ on all three counts.

During Personal Training, Sharon focuses on strengthening a certain body part- i.e. biceps/triceps, back, or legs. She sets up each machine and shows me how to use them properly. She advises how much weight should go on the machines and even helps me keep count. She gives encouragement and holds me accountable to completing each set. I can’t be a wimp because she’s watching closely! We work efficiently and are finished with the sets in 30 minutes. I might not be able to lift my arms or walk upright when it’s over, but I do feel stronger physically and mentally. I do believe Personal Training is helping my overall performance in Metabolic Explosion Training class.

I asked for a online workouts because I was going to miss quite a few classes and while it would be very easy to just skip exercising, I didn't want to get out of the habit of working out. I've worked hard over the past year and I don't want to undo that. I know myself well enough to know that without these online workouts, I would just put off seriously working out. They are the best way to stay on track. I recommend these to others because if you are committed to working out, you don't want to go backwards. This is a great alternative those times you cannot get to your regular classes.

Before working with Sharon, I was working out by myself at a local gym. It worked well until my routine became boring and I lost my motivation. I like the class setting with a great instructor. Now I feel empowered. I feel stronger. It is motivating to me to see others in the class kick butt and I want to be right there with them. My muscles are more defined than before. With age my body is changing and I think this type of exercise has helped me to counteract some of those changes. I've learned to take time out of a hectic schedule to take care of myself…when mom is happy, everyone is happy. Exercise helps me release all the frustration and stress of my day and makes me feel better. I'm also stronger – mentally and physically. There are days that all I want to do is sit down and do nothing. Having a place to go to exercise with a group of great women is very motivating. And I've realized that the more I exercise, the better I feel and the better I eat. When my schedule changed this Spring, I had to drop one of my twice weekly Boot Camp classes and I needed to fill in that gap. Online workouts were perfect because they are convenient to do when my time is limited. I had felt like my upper body was weaker than the rest of my body, and we focused on that. My goal is to be able to do 15 regular push ups with great form. The resistance bands Sharon recommended are awesome. There is such a variety of exercises you can do with them at home or traveling.

Since beginning Online Fitness, I have more energy and I feel more confident with myself. I am definitely losing inches. These workouts are perfect for those who are more comfortable working out at home, or someone looking for workouts that challenge you. It was also perfect for vacation! I did it every other day. I began using online workouts because I could no longer fit Core Strength class into my schedule. I've been doing the online workouts for a couple of weeks and I use them at home, and also while traveling for long weekends. I asked for mine to be designed to use dumbbells and I work harder than I expected...which I love. It's a quality workout and worth the time to sneak to the basement for a half hour and sweat! The best thing about online workouts is the flexibility.

After injuring my forearm a few months ago, I was in a lot of pain. Unfortunately, they said that it would take up to a year to heal because of the multiple muscles that are present. I followed the RICE regimen with some improvement along with some other recommended treatments. However, I still continued to have discomfort in this arm. I knew that Sharon was offering DPL therapy. I had heard from those who tried DPL how they experienced improvement in the area of discomfort and pain reduction.
In researching this therapy, I liked what I read. DPL is all natural, non-invasive and fast. In addition to accelerated healing, the penetrating light activates the production of endorphins and blocks pain-transmitting chemicals, causing non-narcotic analgesia.
After taking DPL, I have experienced similar results and am able to utilize my arm with minimal pain. Although I am still healing, I do believe DPL has made a great difference in this process.

I really enjoy Personal Training for the one-on-one training aspect. I love Boot Camp for the cardio and the challenging aspect. I have taken Pumping Iron also and really enjoy weight training. It has taught me more weight lifting moves and proper core movement. I absolutely LOVE MET! I love the combination of cardio and weight training. I love using all the equipment because it creates variety and I enjoy learning how to use all of it.
I initially asked for a Meal Plan because I am obese and my health was starting to worsen. I was also diagnosed as pre-diabetic. I would recommend this Meal Plan to others because it tells you what to eat and the food is good and "normal".

I asked for a Meal Plan because I wanted to build more muscle and I didn't know how to feed my body correctly. In the first two weeks, I began feeling stronger and more energized, and my arms seemed more cut. I also found that the food prep was easier than expected. Now, after 6 weeks, I feel great! I've been working with Sharon for 4+ years and have taken a variety of classes including Boot Camp, Metabolic Explosion Training, and Personal Training. High Intensity Interval Training + Resistance is the latest class I've tried and I'm hooked. I'm so glad that I tried it. Everyone does the same moves but you can customize the resistance to your level and push yourself forward. I'd recommend this class to anyone who is looking to switch things up a bit. And as with all of Sharon's classes, the people are great and you'll laugh while you are pushing yourself to new limits.

After throwing out my back, I quickly turned to DPL therapy twice a day for the first 3 days then once a day for the next 4 days. Along with light stretching, I have been able to still go to work and get things done. This is exciting because in the past, the same injury would completely sideline me for at least a day, and I wouldn’t have healed this much already. I initially met Sharon through a Core Strength class she was instructing. After about 3 sessions, I knew I wanted to see if we would be a good fit for personal training. I took one personal training session and was instantly sure this was for me, and signed up for a 12 week package, meeting twice a week. I was looking for someone who would listen to what I wanted to accomplish and help with my motivation. I wanted to be instructed in correct form and not be embarrassed by my lack of physicality. Sharon listened to my goals and we discussed them, from the weights I am comfortable with, learning appropriate body movements, and knowing that it took a while for my body to get in the shape it is and it will take time to see results. I have two personal goals: a chin up with or without assistance and regular push ups. I’ve already noticed that my strength has increased in my arms, legs and core. I am using muscles I didn’t know existed and physically/emotionally feel the best I have in a long time. I like EVERYTHING about working with Sharon. It doesn’t matter if you are in shape, out of shape, body or weight size. Sharon really listens and has designed a program specific to me and my goals. I’d like to tell anyone who is considering personal training to just do it! Age is not a “thing”, body weight is not a “thing”. Women tend to be caregivers. We always find time to help out family, friends and others, but when it comes to us, we don’t seem to be able to find the time. If we don’t take care of ourselves, who will? There is no reason not to start. There is no excuse. You will feel empowered and proud of yourself once you take the first step. I wish I would have started personal training with Sharon sooner.

I hope my journey inspires someone on theirs, or inspires someone to start a new journey. I am a single mom of a 4.5 year old. When his 2nd birthday was approaching, I realized that I needed to do something about my health, and the baby weight that I was still carrying. I want to be a good role model for him. I really do believe that if you can make fitness fun, then you will continue to do it. I know this is true, as I’ve lost 40 lbs.! I've worked with Sharon for more than two years in Boot Camp. Prior to this, I had gone to a big box gym with no accountability. I stopped working out before I got pregnant. I just never made time for it. Sharon’s studio is small, and you get to know a little bit about the people that you are with. We tell stories, and keep things fun while we are working out. I used to flex my arms and nothing would happen…now there’s a bump! I started doing modified push ups and struggled to do 5. They are still hard, but I can do 10 standard push ups now! It’s my least favorite exercise, so it’s the one I’m most determined to conquer! I'm definitely stronger! Strong is my new favorite word. I’ve never considered myself strong until now, and it’s an amazing feeling. I’m mentally stronger too- pushing through an exercise when you want to stop, making yourself go to class when it’s snowy and cold out, trying something you’ve always told yourself you couldn’t do. I am taking less medication. I have more energy. I have more confidence and courage. My joints hurt less as I lose weight. I’ve lost 20 pounds! I signed up for MET after taking two sessions of Boot Camp. It is so much fun, always different, and you are surrounded by supportive people. It's a great class especially if you want a little more after taking Boot Camp. It's a great workout and you will feel great when you are done!

I had been taking Get Fit 101 classes for awhile (maybe 5 months), and I felt like my fitness had improved enough and I was familiar enough with the exercises that I was ready for a more challenging class. I think my first MET class actually was one of Sharon's holiday classes - Memorial Day of 2016. I knew it would be harder. I'll be honest though - I was not prepared for the Finishers! That took, and still takes, some getting used to. I love MET and the variety that comes with it. I feel so much better about being me. I've lost some weight, I feel more fit and I think I look more fit. I really like the variety that Sharon's studio provides. All the equipment (toys) we get to work with each week keeps the class interesting. I look forward to seeing what exercises Sharon has written on the board when I arrive. I also really enjoy the other class participants and the discussions we have. Sharon promotes a very friendly atmosphere in her studio. If you are considering trying MET for the first time, it is a bit hard at first, and you'll be more sore than you will admit, but it is also so very, very worth it. Once you have taken MET for a 6-week session, I think you'll be hooked - I was!

I took TRX class to try something different, I've never taken a class like it before and really enjoyed it. I liked that it was tough and easy at the same time, I left the class not feeling as sweaty as I would have thought but the next day knew exactly what areas I worked out. I would highly recommend taking this class at least once. I am looking forward to taking it again.

I initially started taking personal training sessions with Sharon to make a "scheduled" class that I otherwise would find other reasons not to do. My goals were to feel better in general; gain some strength and tone; ultimately to maybe lose some weight. Since working with her, I have learned a wider range of exercises, and how to do them correctly. I’m noticing more muscle mass and a little more strength than before. I also do not have some of the side pains that I was previously told was scar tissue on one side and a lipoma on other. Pain is for the most part gone. I would recommend to others that they should give personal training a try, because you never know if you’ll like until you do. You can choose how long, and how often you go. I can be having a really bad day, and when I leave, I usually am smiling.

I initially signed up for Pumping Iron because I wanted to try something new and work on building more muscle. And although I really wasn't sure what to expect, I really enjoy this class. It's a slower pace than what I was accustomed to with Metabolic Explosion Training class, however because of this it allows me to really focus in on and work certain areas of the body each time. Whether it be leg day, arms, shoulders, back or chest, I can be sure I get a total work out of that area every class. Since taking this class, I feel great and can see a difference in my strength throughout my body. I like consistently using weights and challenging myself. Of course the comradery with Sharon and my classmates is a plus! If I could change anything, it would be that it would last longer - time seems to go so fast in this class. I recommend this class to others to see how strong you are and work on building onto that. You may find that you can't lift much at first, and that's ok because before you know it, you'll really be amazed at what you can do. The key is persistence! If you stick with it, you will see a difference in your body and your overall strength. And like most exercise, it's great for your brain and a tremendous stress reliever.

I began working with Sharon 3 years ago as I was approaching 50. I started with Boot Camp and then moved onto Metabolic Explosion Training. I truly enjoy the workouts because they are challenging and fun but also because she cultivates a culture of support with our class members. Participating in MET really helped me to gain strength and increase my overall physical fitness level. Unfortunately I was unable to continue with MET as I had to have rotator cuff surgery back in November 2016. After about 5 months of physical therapy and much pain, I was cleared by the doctor to start strength training again. In order to ease back into working out, I started Personal Training sessions with Sharon twice per week. These sessions have been great and Sharon has customized the workout sessions based upon my needs. I have re-joined MET and have even added HIIT-R. It feels great getting back into shape after a 5 month hiatus and Sharon's support has been invaluable during this time!

I had been taking Get Fit 101 for a few months, and over Spring Break 2016, Sharon held a Boot Camp class at her studio. I decided to give it a try. I was a bit nervous. I knew it would be harder than Get Fit 101. I remember being very sweaty when it was done! That class was my first experience with a finisher! I don't remember what the finisher was that day, but it almost broke me. However, over the summer and through the fall of 2016 I took Boot Camp once a week. I think the focus is more on legs given the set up of the class. I actually think Boot Camp is harder than Metabolic Explosion Training because of the leg work (at times my quads are screaming!), and it can get hot! I like the time slot too. I can get my workout in and be home to make dinner for my family at a reasonable time and then have an evening. Beech Acres is a pretty convenient location especially if you have an errand to run afterwards. I like that during warm weather months Sharon holds class outside. If you are thinking about taking this class, I would tell you to do it now! You will be so grateful that you did! And keep coming back! You won’t reach your goals in 6 weeks. I have been taking Sharon's classes for 18 months and have not hit my goal yet, but I am getting closer every day, and there's been lots of unexpected benefits in the journey aside from my weight loss goal: new friends, trying new great foods, increased confidence, toner body, improved mental state.

In TRX class, I always expect to get my ass kicked. I enjoy feeling my muscles getting a nice workout, and feeling it the next couple of days. Yes, I have a physical job already, but it's just picking up heavy stuff or twisting and turning under dashes and interior work. In my first TRX class, I liked not having a partner because I was able to work longer on each exercise, and the harder I can push myself, the better I feel and at the end the results are more satisfying. But in my second class, it was nice working out with my wife Alison because I got to help her through the workout and help her keep proper form and push herself. I would tell others that TRX class is a nice intense class that you get out what you put in. If you want to glide through it you can. If you want to push push push, and feel the burn you can. Set your own pace and maybe next time, push a little harder. It won't bulk you up but it will make your core stronger which in turn will keep the rest of the body supported.

When I think back to that first Boot Camp class, I realize how much stronger I am and try to keep pushing myself. In the past, I've always hated strength training, in part because I had very little upper body strength but also because I hated going to the gym and doing the same routine on the same equipment over and over. I really enjoy Boot Camp because it changes each time and I can feel myself getting stronger.

The online workouts are easy-to-follow work outs that can be completed anywhere. I asked for my workouts to incorporate resistance bands. I found them to be very compact, and easy to travel with. This is a good solution for someone with limited time.

I began Online Nutrition Coaching because all of the other things I had tried doing on my own were not working...I have figured out that by staying on track I could potentially reach my goal by the end of December. That would be a great way to start the New Year! I haven't gotten there yet, but I am working on it, having lost around 15 to 17 lbs. in about 2 1/2 months has been a good rate I think. I have gotten pretty many compliments already on my weight loss which doesn't hurt either. ;)

I suffer from Restless Legs Syndrome. Usually I lay down for just a few minutes and then my legs start up. For the past three nights though, I have used the Firefly for 30 minutes on the lowest setting before going to bed. It has stopped my restless leg syndrome each of those nights!

I started Personal Training with Sharon 4 ½ weeks ago. My daughter and her husband gave me this for a Christmas present. What a wonderful gift! In a very short period of time, I have noticed a lot of changes. I have more than 100 lbs. to lose and it is very intimidating to start such a long and arduous journey. My expectations were that Sharon was going to render me unable to walk but after my first hour of working out I went home, made a healthy dinner, and put most of my Christmas decorations away. I felt so good! I have really bad knees and they hurt less after I work out! My energy level goes through the roof when I leave a session. If I had anything to change it would be going more. It is such a wonderful experience to do something for yourself. Just you! If you are considering make a real change in your life and want to hurt less, I suggest you start this journey. Sharon will help you with any issue you have. Choose to be healthy. Make a change. You are worth it! I have lost over 10 lbs. already and many inches, but most importantly I am moving forward to my end goal which is living my best life.

I decided to participate in the Blast the Fat Transformation Challenge because I needed to make a change regarding what and how I ate and the attempts I had been making on my own continued to fail. My biggest motivator was going to the doctor and finding out that my weight was only about 5 pounds shy of what I weighed at the end of my pregnancy with the twins in 2009. That was a major wake up call. Not to mention how miserable I felt when none of my clothes were fitting anymore. Because our schedules are so busy, I had stopped cooking good foods and instead made whatever was easiest and fastest, which often times included stops at McDonald’s on the way to baseball games. It wasn’t good for me and I wasn’t setting a good example for my family. I had a really good experience with the Challenge. It really helped that the plan got back to some very basic, healthy meals that repeated throughout the weeks. I could prep ahead of time and it was easy to put together lunches and dinners. I found that I wasn’t as hungry as I thought I would be and after just a week, I felt a lot better. I’m so happy with my results. I can’t believe that I’m 11 pounds lighter. My clothes fit so much better and I have a lot more energy. The pants that I am wearing in this photo were actually put away 2 years ago because they didn’t fit anymore. I got them out and put them on this morning and not only do they fit, but they’re almost too big! I still have some more weight that I want to lose but knowing that I’ve done this much already makes it so much easier to keep going. I would definitely recommend the Challenge to anyone that wants to kick start their weight loss. Because the plan used a lot of the same meals, the prep was easy and it gets you used to following a meal plan. And because I was already in the habit of it, the transition to a new meal plan after the Challenge has been super easy. A few other pluses that I would like to add – before the Challenge I was getting migraines about once a week. Often they would keep me from work, or participating in activities with my family. Since the Challenge, I haven’t had a single headache! I can’t tell you the last time I’ve been pain-free for so long. Getting those lost hours and days back is such a blessing and all thanks to simply changing my eating habits and feeding my body the right way. Also, I’ve noticed my kids making healthier choices for themselves because they are following my example. They’re replacing cold cereal with oatmeal and protein shakes for breakfast. They are huge fans of warm Quest bars (especially chocolate chip cookie dough!). And they’ve put away the chips and instead eat more fruits and veggies for snacks. One of their new favorites is the spinach salads that I’ve started adding to our dinners. So not only am I doing better for myself, but my kids are fueling their bodies in the right way too, which is great because they are so active.

I decided to take part in the Transformation Challenge because I gained some extra weight due to a medication I was taking. After stopping the medication some of the weight came off easily, but some stuck around. My exercise routine was not enough to get rid of the extra pounds without changing my diet so I thought this was a great opportunity to lose the weight more quickly than trying to make nutritional changes on my own. The Challenge was very structured which I think helped me stick with it. I reached my goal - losing 7 lbs. and 9.5" - in 5 weeks and am thrilled with the results.

I decided to sign up for the Transformation Challenge because over the past year I had some personal challenges. As a result I had gained unwanted weight. At my last visit to the doctor it was recommended that I lose a few pounds. I also was feeling the stress of the extra pounds in my workouts. I needed to do something! I needed control back in my eating! I needed to get back to smart eating. At first, after seeing the plan, I thought “No way!” It was such a drastic change but at that point I needed a drastic change. I found that this was a very simple and easy to follow change. I actually adjusted quickly to the meal plan. I enjoyed the simplicity of the preparation. I have incorporated items from this Challenge into my meal planning going forward. Personal training is the only thing that works for me. I just do not have the motivation and room to do much here at home. I am 85 and just started 4 weeks ago. The main difference I see after balance and strength work outs is how much better I feel about myself. It is motivating to accomplish just a small part of the exercise. I have a long way to go, but just a little bit makes a difference.I feel having a personal trainer is the best way to go. You have a "personal prescription" from your trainer that allows you your best outcome. I am hoping my retired friends can see how much better I can get around and get interested. At first, I was worried that I had "bitten more than I could chew', being the shape and age that I am, but Sharon has made me feel comfortable and encouraging for what I could do.

I have worked with Sharon in group class settings for a while, and am proud of my progress and the maintenance of my fitness program at the level I have. However, I began personal training because I was wanting a bit of a kick start and needed a new goal. I decided I wanted to be able to complete a pull up. I went into my first session pretty open-minded and unassuming, but I did think it would be a lot like HIIT-R or Metabolic Explosion Training in the fact that it would never be the same workout from week to week, and I'd come home tired! (in a good way!) I find that I work harder in personal training. I feel more invested on many levels - it's just Sharon and me - so she notices when I'm struggling or when I've got some extra spunk to keep going. It takes time and work, but I'm definitely getting stronger - I can see my goal getting closer. I like that personal training is all about me! I took my first Pumping Iron class a few months ago to regain strength after shoulder surgery. I was happy that Sharon added a Pumping Iron class this session because I wanted to add more strength training to my fitness routine which now includes Boot Camp and Metabolic Explosion Training. This class is great because it is small and intimate. Not only is each class different but because it’s not fast paced like Boot Camp, MET, or High Intensity Interval Training there is time to talk, joke and laugh with Sharon and classmates. I think your online nutrition program is great, especially for someone that doesn't live in Cincinnati. The app is great for knowing what is on my meal plan and letting me track my weight. The bi-weekly check in works great. It allows enough time to see progress but isn't so frequent that I obsess over measurements and the scale. And you are always very responsive to email questions when I have them. I can't believe I'm almost a year in and I'm keeping the weight off. I'm not even getting on the scale much anymore because I can tell by how my clothes are fitting that I'm doing okay. It keeps me from focusing too much on a number that might fluctuate from week to week. I even bought this year's swim suits already - in a size 6! Last year I was a 10/12. I say thumbs up! You're doing a great job reaching clients that you might never (or rarely) see in person.

I began working with Sharon for two reasons. I wanted to lose 20 lbs. and get back into shape so I could start running again. But I really wanted to do it with my wife to get her going. She has had too many medical issues, and needed to change her routine and diet. So doing this together was very important. I wasn’t really sure what to expect when we started training but I found I learned a lot. Many of the exercises I had never done before. And I had never worked with weights either. I also learned a lot about eating better. I am eating much better — much less carbs and sugars, and more protein than before. Personal training changes your life for the better. I am 54 years old and have two grown sons. I have been married for 31 years. I like to be active in what I do. Whether it be gardening, purposeful festivals, bike riding, walking, reading. Fitness has always been a part of my life with the exception of 4 years when parental death, extreme stress, depression and menopause took front billing and stole my health. I work 50+ hours a week. I want to be defined by what I do for others, the positive attitude I have, and what I contribute. I was already seeing the results from Metabolic Explosion Training class and decided to ask for help with nutrition. Once I set my mind to something I generally do not give up. Especially when the results have a positive effective on my total health. It does not hurt that others notice and actually say something. On a scale of 1 – 10 with 10 being “really hard”, this has been a 3. I thought the most difficult would be giving up pop. Once I got over the initial withdraw, I have not missed it at all. I thought the preparation would be difficult, but while I am preparing my evening meal and I am getting breakfast, lunch and snack fixed for the next day. It all works together. Prior to working with Sharon, I did not realize that I was not eating enough. I had tried Atkins…..that got the weight off quick but it did not stay off because who does not like bread. I tried online Weight Watchers but you can eat anything as long as you do not exceed the points. I may have lost weight but I was not eating enough of the right foods. I went to calorie counting with Fitness Pal but again it left decision-making to me without guidelines. I knew what the rights choices were but I gave into temptations that used up the points or the calories. This Meal Plan works because there are guidelines that make sense. It takes into consideration your activity level along with reasonable goals. Filling your meal with the right foods reduces the temptations greatly! If I could give advice to others, I would tell you that I was very hesitant myself but the results are proven. It works! It’s not just another ridiculous diet but a way of eating and living. Eating healthy daily does have a positive impact. I was eating healthy 60% of the time before I began. Now I am 95%…..I still have some temptations but they are fewer and further apart because I am satisfied each day. Those who are having trouble committing? Take it one day at a time and follow the Meal Plan because it works. Talk with Sharon about where you are having difficulty because she will provide guidance and suggestions. Those who need accountability? Following the Meal Plan brings accountability. It is perfectly laid out and there are opportunities for healthy substitutes if you need them. What is the best part about working with Sharon? She is very supportive through MET and the Meal Plan. Even when you are having difficulty, she is a cheerleader. What is the worst part about working with Sharon? She is invested in your success so if you are looking for flexibility/leniency, she will not make it easy for you. It is still your choice but no absolution here! I wish I started the Meal Plan sooner. I like the way I feel and look. The best I have felt in years!

My name is Michelle Ellis and I’m a recovering food alcoholic. I have been working with Sharon for a full year now mostly in personal training, but recently in MET class too. When I first started this journey I was excited and nervous about the huge task ahead. I was needing to lose 100 plus lbs. and starting such a process is a very daunting thought. I found my first day with Sharon to be challenging but rewarding. I was glad she was not hesitant or reluctant to help me. I made a promise to myself in 2018 to turn my life in a more positive direction so I can be healthy for my grandchildren and enjoy my retirement to the fullest! Fast forward one year and I have lost 50 lbs. While I am less than 50 % away from my ultimate goal, my everyday life is forever changed. I no longer look for the closest parking spot at the mall. I can get up off the floor without help. I can climb steps with ease. I used to struggle to walk a mile. Now I could do 5 if I wanted. Everything has changed for the better. My body is a work in progress for sure. I am so happy to be much stronger also. Picking up my mulch bags were no problem this year. My A1C has gone down significantly into a non-pre-diabetic range. I was very close to be being a full fledged diabetic. My blood pressure is completely under control with less medication. My goal is now to get healthier. I’m sure the 70 lbs I still want to lose will follow. I try to think about living my best life and still balance a well rounded fun life. The best thing about working with Sharon is that she is always on time and always prepared. She is one of the most reliable people I have ever met. She is completely committed to her profession. The worst part of working with Sharon is that she has to charge for her services. That being said, because I had made such a big money commitment I never wanted that money to go to waste so I always showed up no matter what! I found out later that consistency is the key to success in this process. In the past I tried a lot of quick fixes that didn’t work. I always lost 20 pounds and then gained 30. I used her Online Nutrition Coaching app and it gave me a great guideline to follow. I was not perfect all the time but learned a ton about how much protein to carbs to vegetable portions work best for balancing my meals. I would tell others who are hesitant to start not to be afraid. Everyone has excuses and reasons to fail but you need to take the leap for yourself. You matter! It is a very gradual process not a scary process. I really can say I never felt deprived of food. I never felt like “poor me”. I never understand what people meant when they said they made a lifestyle change but now I get it! Wish me luck! I’m on my way!

I had never taken a Tabata class before taking Sharon’s class. I really enjoyed it, I like how intense it was. Sharon told us to push ourselves from the beginning and try to repeat that number of reps each set. Yeah right, I pushed hard and by the end I was happy to reach half of my rep number, but I did push myself hard at the beginning to set a high number. I loved this class. Sharon was right when she told us that if you weren’t tired by the end of the class, then you didn’t push yourself hard enough. For two days after the class, my legs and arms were so done! It was great! I would take this class again and I highly recommend it if you want a high-pace, intense if you push yourself, workout. But you set your own goals during the class, so set them high! I would tell others who are considering taking this class to do it! I always like trying something new. I feel it’s good for my muscles and changes things up to make it more fun. It’s a nice shock factor too, my body gets use to some of the exercises, and this wakes them up and keeps that metabolic rate up even after you’re done.

I asked for online workouts because I wanted to start incorporating strength training into my workout routine but wasn't really sure how to figure out the details like whether to lift heavy weight with low reps or lighter weight with higher reps, how to structure the workout (total body vs splits), etc. After talking with Sharon, we opted for an upper body / lower body split. Right now I'm trying to do each once a week, along with one day of Boot Camp and one day of MET class. I liked that we discussed my goals, what kind of equipment I wanted to use, and that the workouts contained some exercises that were new to me. Sharon demonstrated the exercises to make sure I knew the proper form for each since I would be performing these on my own. I recommend online workouts to anyone who wants or needs a little bit of guidance in their "out of studio" workouts. With the ability to customize it, in terms of your goals and equipment, you really can't go wrong.

I injured my lower back and was diagnosed with a bulged disc. I was so frustrated. The injury caused numbness in my left foot and leg, constant back pain, and stiffness. I could hardly do any daily activities, things we often take for granted like leaning over to brush my teeth, and walking. It's been depressing. When you're an active person and you can hardly do any physical activity (including simple daily ones) it's tough on you. I wasn't permitted to workout in any capacity for quite some time. I had been seeing the Orthopedic Doctor and had an epidural injection into my spine (this helped a lot!). I began physical therapy soon after and was making extremely slow progress. I've been working with Sharon for years (Boot Camp, MET Class, you name it) so I decided to start seeing her again, but this time for one-on-one Personal Training sessions. We've been focusing on strengthening my core and glutes. I'm making a lot of progress now. It's been nice too because we're slowly incorporating legs and arms to my workout. After each session I notice less stiffness, and I'm getting my strength back. If you are injured like I was, I am here to tell you that it is no joke, for sure. You need to know that you must consistently work on strengthening your core and your glutes to protect your spine. Knowing my injury, Sharon has helped me to customize a workout that is helping me tremendously. I highly recommend it!

The accountability is what I needed to motivate myself to get back on track and it delivered that much. All in all it was good. If you are thinking about participating in the next Transformation Challenge, I will tell you that it works if you are ready to lose a quick 10-20 lbs. but be ready to commit. It's not easy.

I had taken Metabolic Explosion Training classes, Boot Camp, and special offerings like TRX class from Sharon for a couple years (love it!), and with my children off at college, I felt the time was right to add in some more personalized workouts, although it was an injury that finally prompted me to put that plan into motion. Many years ago I had injured my back, and then I herniated a disc in my lower spine in early 2018. Prior to medical treatment, I suffered in pain for 4 months. Upon completing medical treatment, I worked with a physical therapist, and began working with Sharon taking Personal Training to regain mobility, flexibility, and strength. Then one day, I went to physical therapy, and the kind and competent therapist directed me to start on the exercises all on my own, and I pretty much did my entire session without any attention from the therapist. This, coupled with the fact that I had not been given any new exercises for the past few sessions, got me thinking. I could continue this path of seeing both a physical therapist and doing Personal Training with Sharon, or I could eliminate paying for physical therapy which was no longer providing me what I thought I needed and solely focus on working with Sharon. I want to stress, I had gone through a couple months of physical therapy and had progressed nicely. Sharon is not a physical therapist and I did not substitute her Personal Training for that of a licensed therapist. I just felt I was no longer receiving benefit from the energy, time, and money I was devoting to physical therapy, and I decided that I had progressed to the point that I could safely work with Sharon exclusively. Sharon gave (and gives) me personalized attention and tailored workouts based upon how I was/am feeling each and every session. There is no question in my mind that I made the correct decision. I have been taking Personal Training from Sharon ever since. Some days she pushes me hard, some days I stretch more, other days her focus is on my core, some days it isn’t, and before each session she asks how I feel, and adjusts her plan for me accordingly. Sharon and I have worked one-on-one for 8 months. After Personal Training for a few months, and as I began to feel better and more confident, I felt like I could try to add back in MET classes. I wanted to be smart and not overdo it so I took one class. Then I started working back into a more regular MET schedule, and now I am back to full-time MET, along with Personal Training. I am pain-free, and so much stronger and more flexible than I was last 8 months ago! I feel like I am living a normal life again. If you suffer a debilitating injury like I did, the key is determination, consistency, and time. I very much enjoy my Personal Training sessions, and I get a great personalized workout. It was incredibly rewarding to once again incorporate and be successful at exercises I had lost the ability to perform while I was injured. I thank Sharon for each one of those victories. My recovery is complete, and I still take Personal Training with Sharon because I enjoy the personal attention and personalized workouts. I feel that I have gained more muscle definition than I achieved by taking MET classes alone. Also, it is a time twice a week that I can focus on improving my health and my appearance. What would I change? NOTHING! I love it, and I thank Sharon for all that she has done for me to aid in my recovery, and to help me be a healthy, stronger, and better version of me.

I have really enjoyed Pumping Iron class as it has given me a chance to really focus on strengthening muscles and moving at a slower pace. I wouldn’t suggest changing anything as I have found it to be a great class. I really think this is a good all around class for anyone from the beginner to more experienced and would encourage new folks to give this class a try before moving on to something like Metabolic Explosion Training.

I joined Boot Camp looking for a challenging work out. Time has always been my struggle. Working a full time job, being a mom to three active kids, and being a wife always presents time issues. There is never enough time to food prep or plan healthy meal options, especially when you are living so much of your life on the go. Previously, I had participated in other weight loss plans but they never felt sustainable to me. However this process is something I can continue to implement into my life, long term. The program not only provides me with structure but also accountability, something I need!
Before I started working with Sharon, I felt frustrated knowing that I deserved more and with the right guidance could find an option that could work for me. I was sad because of how much I weighed, ashamed that I couldn’t keep myself accountable and felt helpless in not knowing how to best help myself.
Sharon’s online program takes the guess work out and holds me accountable. Additionally, it is easy and doesn’t require much additional time. Most importantly, I am losing weight, in a health way! I am not hungry, I don’t have cravings and all of the guess work is gone. This structure allows me options but comparable options that will help keep me on track to successfully achieve my goals.
Since following Sharon’s plan, I am never hungry and no longer crave “bad” foods - caffeine, sugar or carbs. I like water again, something I haven’t liked in years and always find myself needing more of it. My skin feels better, my knees and ankles hurt less and I am sleeping better.
If I were asked what I would tell others who are facing the same struggles and frustrations that I was, I would tell them: You can do it! Life is busy but when schedules die down and your kids are grown, you will still be here. Taking care of yourself and putting yourself first is the most important thing you can do for you AND your family. My kids see the difference and are proud of me, in addition, my husband is supporting this lifestyle change and has joined in this effort, in his own way. You don’t realize how unhealthy you are until you make a change and begin to see results, I feel better now than I have in years and I can’t wait to lose more.
Take baby steps. Before fully committing to Sharon’s meal plan, I took my own steps to help ease into it. I cut out caffeine, sugar and carbs. Introducing the nutrition plan was the next easy step.
I’m most surprised at how much I have lost so far – 7 lbs. and 7” in just 4 weeks, how easy the meal plans are to follow and how much I look forward to eating them.

My biggest struggle before working with Sharon was finding moderation in my diet. I recognized over-eating and fought it with calorie restriction, which led to big swings in my intake. This, in addition to the quality of what I was eating (easy food is often not particularly nutritious) was preventing me from reaching goals. This became my frustration, that I spent so much time and money working out and wasn’t getting the results I sought.
I work shift work and would often skip meals while working because I didn’t make it a priority. This led to a lot of binging after work, particularly in the late hours of the night. Again, it wasn’t healthy choices, either. This led to generally feeling unwell about that choice, as well as a lot of food guilt.
Regarding lifting, my frustrations about not meeting goals prevented me from trying. I didn’t do it because it wasn’t natural to me. I could run 10 miles but I wouldn’t bench press to save my life. This frustrated me a lot, because I wanted to encourage and foster total body strength but couldn’t “figure it out”, so I stopped trying to do things I wasn’t naturally good at.
Sharon’s online fitness and nutrition program has given me a ton of accountability. The workouts are straight forward and there are demonstrations of all of them. Supplemented with check-ins, there was a level of accountability that I didn’t offer to myself (or negotiated away).
Regarding nutrition, prior to this I didn’t cook. I didn’t prepare meals. I looked for any excuse to eat out. This program is teaching me moderation, portion control and clean eating. Again, the proof is in the pudding, and check ins are helpful to review what does and doesn’t work for my particular schedule.
Since starting her program, I have more energy. I’m not hungry at work. I don’t want to binge after late shifts. I’m developing an affinity for lifting and starting to see changes. I am drinking more water and less caffeine. I’m globally making healthier choices.
In 4 weeks, I have lost 8 lbs. and 5".
If I could give advice to others who are facing the same struggles and frustrations that I was, I would tell them this is worth trying. It’s certainly not going to hurt, and adding the component of accountability and the education around nutrition and strength training is not terribly intrusive but makes a huge difference.
Reach out. Sharon was incredibly receptive to my needs and was quick to respond to my questions. The set up didn’t take long and we were ready to go rather quickly.

Before working with Sharon my biggest struggle was not being able to add additional muscle and my lack of knowledge for what I needed to do to improve. It was frustrating as I didn't feel like I was making any progress towards my goals.
Sharon’s training program helped a lot with understanding that there should be a more well rounded approach to building muscle and that cardio was also very important to overall success. Before working with Sharon, I was in a rut of eating too much as well as eating unhealthy foods on a daily basis. This was ingrained in my lifestyle and I didn't know how to begin to change. I've tried different things such as Weight Watchers and the Atkins diet which would give me very short term results but then I would go back to the old way of eating. This left me having trouble being energized, clothes would feel tight unless I upped the sizes with new ones, I had lower self esteem, and was always self-conscious of my weight.
With Sharon's program, in just 5+ weeks, I have lost 20 pounds and 10-1/2"! I feel great, have all but stopped drinking alcohol as well. I have reached a weight of under 200 pounds for the 1st time in at least 20 years and have energy and feel great about myself. I would tell others who are facing the same struggles and frustrations that I was that I basically flipped the switch and made the change within a weekend. Eating and exercising change was made instantly. I was concerned with the meals, mainly the portion sizes but was surprised that I really didn't miss anything about what I am eating. Also, when you start to see results, it snowballs into wanting to lose more weight and more inches.

After my daughter was born in 2009 I did Weight Watchers. I was successful meeting my weight loss goal but it didn’t stick. The only reason I lost the weight was the hours of calculating and planning I did to figure out points. Not so realistic for the long term for me. I threw in the towel when they changed their point system. I also didn’t care for their substitutions – lots of processed snacks that weren’t very appealing. I’d rather have a smaller amount of the real thing. Sharon’s Meal Plan seemed limiting at first, but as I got more comfortable and knowledgeable it got easier and easier and has a lot of flexibility for preferences and hectic schedules. We are a mom (Susan) and daughter (Gillian) who take Boot Camp together. Susan: I've been taking Boot Camp for about 18 months, and I am definitely stronger and have more stamina. It's also a lot easier lifting and carrying the kayak these days, and my tennis game has improved. Each Boot Camp is tough — I have never felt like I was not pushing my body to do more and this builds endurance which carries over to other activities. It is an excellent base to help other physical activities whether chores or pleasure. Gillian: Since starting Boot Camp, I feel pretty amazing just about all the time. I really enjoy the experience I have working with Sharon via her online platform. Sharon’s knowledge and flexibility are well suited to working with those who have really tight schedules, and she is really responsive to concerns and questions. I have short calls with her every other week to stay accountable and discuss how my workouts are going, but the online platform is really the key. She builds customized workouts using whatever equipment I have, loads instructions (eg. sets, reps, pitfalls to avoid), and adds videos to help me understand how to perform the movements correctly.

I had bounced between programs and facilities - never quite finding the right mix. In this quest, I did realize that I loved taking classes and that I definitely pushed myself harder vs. working out alone. One of my biggest struggles was finding classes that I received personalized instruction. I have injured myself over the years by doing exercises incorrectly because the instructor couldn't or didn't take the time to correct me. Once injured, I would get off track and get very discouraged. A neighbor of mine had been working out with Sharon for a year and had recommended her several times to me and I am so thankful she did. I started with Sharon in October 2019 and have been doing 2 classes a week since. I love the small class size and very personalized attention and instruction. She is always encouraging and supportive in your wellness journey - through both exercise and nutrition. I had never been able to do a regular push up before starting with Sharon and that was one of my goals. I can now do regular push ups and I feel so strong - physically, but also mentally. Sharon makes it possible for anyone to be successful with their goals!

I think my biggest struggle before working with Sharon was building endurance during running. Consistency probably played a role in that, but that was my number one concern. By taking her classes three days a week, I've been able to build strength and endurance for everything I do on a daily basis. Before working out, I would get winded and off-balance just managing my son. Lifting him, supporting him when we do walking in physical therapy, etc, was difficult. I'm in my late 40s now and my energy was low. I would tire easily. I've gone to a couple doctors because of my low energy. I've also tried home remedies, diets, and diet supplements to change my energy levels. This included drinking 1 whole raw lemon every day. I was not happy with my life, health, and mood. Now after just a couple of months, I have much more energy every morning. I feel great. More than that, with Sharon’s program I've built up the strength and stamina to easily handle my son's care. I have the energy to handle my son's weight (with movement disorders) and have energy for the rest of my day, with a better mood. I've seen improvements in my overall health: lower heartrate, lower blood pressure, and better immune response. My resting heart rate before starting running and taking your class was 110-115. It's now 80-85 when I'm awake. My apple watch says it goes down to 63 during sleep. I want to tell others that I know it's very difficult to get started with a workout routine, and it's even harder to maintain consistency to achieve your goals. Taking classes from Sharon will help you through the entire process of starting, building up, and maintaining consistency to build a routine into your life. I wish I would have started classes years ago.

Probably 4 years ago I had to start on a water pill for my blood pressure that kept creeping up. It worked. Last year at my doctor's visit, my BP was pretty low, but my blood sodium level was elevated. Doc instructed me to cut the pill in half, and sent me on my way. This year BP is still low and sodium is still elevated. Doc told me to stop taking the water pill as he doesn't think I need it and I can self-monitor with my own cuff, and he guesses sodium level will return to normal range. He said my workout routine is likely a big factor in all of this. I share my personal health story because I am a dedicated client of Sharon's and we are coming up on our fifth anniversary of working together. So I'm older, yet in better health. Needless to say, I'm very pleased!! Thanks Sharon! Keep pushing me!!
Boot Camp is exactly what I was looking for as far as a workout. It keeps me motivated to have a class that I can attend with other people every week and I like the exercises we do. I have never been a fan of running and this is the exactly what I was looking for. It keeps me moving and that is exactly what I was looking for. ... After just a few classes I could tell by different exercises I was already getting stronger....it was absolutely perfect and I love it. I LOVE Pumping Iron class! Like any of Sharon's classes, you start where you are and do the best you can, while you are challenged to try to stretch yourself just a little bit more. I initially signed up for Pumping Iron because it worked with my schedule. Honestly, I was a little apprehensive - focused weight training - on one body part and strengthening those muscles - was out of my comfort zone, but I trusted Sharon having taken Metabolic Explosion Training and Boot Camp before, and figured I could give it a try. During class, I feel pretty "kick butt" when I challenge myself to do an extra rep or increase the weight of my dumbbells. I leave feeling really strong. If I talked to myself from 2 years ago and said, "YES! You are still committed to fitness, seeing muscle definition, and not intimidated by a 15 lb. dumbbell" I don't know that past Beth would believe me, but I'm so proud of where I am now and where I'm headed with my fitness goals :) The friends I’ve made in class are great too - motivating you to push yourself and we laugh... A LOT. For those considering signing up, I would say DO IT! You have to start somewhere and this is a great place to start and have support to keep you going. It's really cool when you see muscle definition that you have never seen before! You will never be bored!

I’m 40 years old, and an account manager that sits at a desk all day, but in my younger years I was a four-year, varsity high school volleyball and basketball athlete, and played college volleyball. After graduation, I played in several higher level women’s volleyball leagues around Cincinnati for 10 years, then had to stop due to knee problems. That was when I reached out to Sharon and started Boot Camp. I started with a session or two of Boot Camp and then changed to MET class when Sharon opened her studio. At first I was only going to one MET class a week, but as Sharon added classes I was able to change my schedule around to take three classes a week. Even with a few knee/hamstring problems, I have been able to attend class as Sharon has helped me modify the workouts. This is one of the main reasons I like working with Sharon. She really knows her clients and helps them meet their goals by working through small setbacks like injuries. I decided that I also needed help with my diet. I started following her Meal Plans and have had great success. Working with Sharon is one of the best things I have ever done. I’ve lost 40 lbs., dropped 7.3% bodyfat, and lowered my BMI by 5.6 points. On a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being “really hard”, this process was a 3. There were ups and downs but when I began ordering from her Fresh Food Delivery service, it helped me stay on track. It provided meals to take to work without the worry of preparing food at home. It’s exciting when my family and friends compliment me. They love the new me and they can’t believe I lost 40 lbs. People have made skinny comments and that if I keep losing weight there will be nothing left to hug. Also they cannot believe how dedicated I have been to working out and I just tell them it’s FUN! If I could give advice to others, I would tell you that the first step is always the hardest, but when you take this first step it is well worth it. Why is it worth it? Well, for me, having more energy, having people tell me I look “awesome”, and finally just feeling good about myself and what I have accomplished. If you never start working on your fitness you will never know what you may be missing out on. Not only how you feel but the things you may miss out in life because you don’t have the energy to do all the activities that you want to. Having trouble committing or being accountable to your fitness program, it always helps to find someone that helps motivate you to get on and stay on the program. Sharon is a great overall motivator. She is knowledgeable about fitness and is willing to pass that knowledge on to others. I have worked with Sharon for more than a year, starting in Boot Camp and then adding Metabolic Explosion Training classes. I have lost 12 lbs. as well as inches in my thighs and waist. I must wear a belt with all of my jeans, and really need to get some suspenders for my workout pants. (ha) I have gone from wearing a large in tops to a medium and have also gained a lot of muscle in my upper body. When I first started with Sharon, I was not even able to do a push up without modifying it. Now, I have more energy and do not get as winded when playing sports like soccer and volleyball. I would recommend Workouts To Go to others because they are perfect for people with busy schedules. You don't have to be at a gym between certain hours or make a class. You can fit these in whenever and wherever you have time. They are also great for people doing other things that want to add variety to their workouts. While the exercises are similar to what we do in MET class, the resistance bands make the workout feel totally different and challenging.
The personalization Sharon is able to do with these workouts is great. Right now, she is helping me target a specific area where I am lacking in strength and flexibility. This is the first time since the injury that I've been able to focus on that one area and try to improve my range of motion.

Before starting the Meal Plan I felt dissatisfied with my appearance, bloated, and lacking in energy. Now I feel much more energized. I'm finding I enjoy foods that I used to shy away from. I asked for online workouts - one was a total body work out for when I go on vacation or am not able to make it to class. I also ordered the package of resistance bands Sharon suggested to go along with the workout!! Another workout was focused on core work because even though I do some core exercises while working out, I wanted a complete core workout that I can do at home a few days a week or incorporate into a weekly workout while on vacation! I would highly recommend online fitness to others because the information you need is RIGHT THERE, the only thing you have to do is the workout. It is a great workout tool for those who may not be able to get out during a snow storm or who may have a conflict with the class they planned on attending. Instead, you have a structured workout - just do it!!! It can't get any easier than that. I really REALLY like the core workout and I look forward to getting the next one in another few weeks.
Before I started Metabolic Explosion Training Class, I felt like I needed to add something to my existing workout routine and diet. I wanted to look and feel more fit and leaner. Now I feel more fit and stronger. I like my body more now than I did a year ago. I would recommend MET Class to others because the class provides a great opportunity to vary your workout routine in a non competitive supportive environment. I trust Sharon as a trainer.

Since I began the upper body and lower body online workouts, I feel humbled. lol I thought I was stronger than I really was until Sharon once again kicked my butt with these workouts! I am no doubt going to be stronger and healthier as I incorporate these programs into my marathon training. I recommend online workouts to others because they are easy to use and follow, from beginner to advanced, and from home gym to big box gym equipment.
I inquired about DPL in regards to left shoulder pain. I had torn a muscle in the winter and noticed the pain started to worsen this past spring. I started DPL therapy in July. After the first visit, I noticed less pain while driving and an overall decrease in pain. After the fourth visit I noticed a significant decrease in tightness and discomfort. I was able to sleep through the night without pain and noticed an increase in range of motion. I did not realize the amount of pain I was actually in until it began to go away. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with muscular pain. I typically choose to go without taking pain medication and massage therapy can be quite pricey and results can be minimal. DPL has provided the relief without medication or invasive procedures. I am very happy with my results and will continue to use this method for any future injuries.

I was a little hesitant of trying DPL since it was unfamiliar, but got really excited about trying it after hearing from so many other Metabolic Explosion Training classmates that it was helpful. I have had a nagging pain in my shoulder for about 10 months - it really just became part of my life, as I just worked around it - but pulling the covers up, picking up kids or bags hurt, and sleeping on my side or exercising on that side was uncomfortable, and my range of motion without pain was limited.
After the first session there was a marked difference, and I slept on my side without any discomfort. As I continued therapy, my range of motion without pain vastly improved, and this past Monday I did side tri-rises and full arm circles without any discomfort! I can stretch out my shoulder without pain and it feels good! I'm happy that I did it. I waited too many months with ice and Advil without long term relief.

I’ve been working with Sharon for about 2.5 years, and my how time flies when you’re having fun! I have always loved being active and sweating! But Boot Camp and MET are like nothing I did before. They are challenging and each class is different which I love. Sharon always keeps me on my toes! I like working with Sharon because she is a great motivator and extremely knowledgeable. She makes working out fun and keeps it interesting. She also has a great sense of humor, which I appreciate when I’m on burpee #15 ;). I’m stronger and slimmer than when I started. My plantar fasciitis started in my left foot over a year ago, and then after doing the Queen Bee half marathon last October my right foot started hurting. I decided to start DPL therapy for the plantar fasciitis in my right foot first. After just one session I could feel a difference when I got up the next morning. I still had pain but it wasn't as severe. Now, my right foot feels better, not pain free, but a lot better.
After doing the Flying Pig half marathon this year, my right foot felt better than my left foot that has gone through steroid shots, physical therapy, and stretching. I am going to start DPL therapy on my left foot now with the hopes of the same outcome I had with my right foot. I would definitely recommend the DPL therapy, it is a lot cheaper than physical therapy!

I had excruciating neck pain that was radiating down my right arm. It was so bad that I was not sleeping at night. The chiropractor believed it was a pinched nerve and suggested treatment 3 times a week for 3 weeks and if it wasn't getting better then would recommend getting an MRI.
I did the chiropractic treatment but wanted to see if Deep Penetrating Light therapy would help speed up the healing process. It did! After the first DPL treatment, I was able to sleep that night. I still had pain in the morning but it was significantly less than before. I continued the DPL therapy 3 more times in between trips to the chiropractor.
At the end of 2 weeks, my pain was gone and the chiropractor was amazed. He said he was really surprised that I was feeling so well so quickly.
I highly recommend giving DPL therapy a try. I truly believe it made a huge difference in my recovery.

I wanted to try DPL Therapy on my foot to see if it would help alleviate the pain caused by my bunion. Ultimately I have to have surgery on my foot, this I know, but I'm not ready mentally or financially so I thought what the heck, let's give this a try!!!
After just the first session, I noticed that the pain I usually have at night, right before I go to bed, was not there. Before starting therapy, my foot acted up at the end of the day, but now on the days and a few days following therapy I have not had any foot discomfort at night!! Again, I know that this therapy won't "fix" my issue but boy, not having my foot ache at night while I'm trying to fall asleep is AWESOME!!!!
I've been doing DPL therapy on my foot since the end of February, and just recently completed my first ever half marathon. I was quite worried about my foot and how it would feel running that distance. I was pleasantly surprised at how little it hurt after completing the half marathon. I thank DPL Therapy for that as well!!
The cost of having this therapy doesn't even compare to a doctor's visit. And I've never had physical therapy but I know it is very costly. I would highly recommend this to everyone that may have aches or pains that are not going away. This is very easy and convenient and affordable!!!!

The morning after my first DPL therapy session, I was able to walk down stairs, which I couldn't do the day before. After my second session, not only was I able to go bowling, I actually bowled my best game EVER!!! After just a few sessions, my knee is 90% better. There are three big wins with this therapy:

- Not having to take time off from work to go to a doctor’s office for treatment. Having the sessions after MET Class is perfect for my schedule.
- Its cost is inexpensive compared to a co-pay for a doctor, a specialist, or going to a physical therapist.
I've actually been having some issues with my shoulder and plan on starting DPL therapy on it. I would without a doubt recommend DPL therapy to someone who is having aches and pains. It’s an inexpensive way to get back to doing the everyday things you want to do.

Just had to share...Had a doctor's appointment this morning and the last time I was there, my a1c was borderline prediabetic. With my weight loss since January and the boost I've gotten with your Meal Plan, I'm happy to say I'm no longer prediabetic. Great news! I also did some shopping this week. I had no Fall clothes that fit. I have a bin full of clothes from last year that are useless to me now. I know the most important thing is my health and I'm definitely happy about the changes I'm seeing in that area. I sleep better. My asthma is more in control than it has been in years. I have so much more energy and endurance. But I've always had a problem finding clothes I liked that fit me properly. This time last year, I was a size 20/1-2x. I just bought my first pair of size 12 jeans since I was a teenager. And I'm not going to say how long ago that was :) It's a pretty great feeling.

My shoulder feels 10x better in just 3 sessions of Deep Penetrating Light therapy. The pain in the joint has dissipated, and the muscle in my neck have loosened up al ot. The therapy was quick and easy at just 20 minutes per session, and less expensive than trips to the doctor or chiropractor. I would do it over again if I get another injury, and I would definitely recommend anyone else who is suffering from any kinds of aches and pains to give DPL therapy a shot.

I had been picking and choosing parts of many nutrition programs to justify my eating habits and I knew I needed guidance. I've had my best success in life when someone is holding me accountable. Now when I think about cheating, it's like you're sitting on my shoulder and I end up making the right decision. Before the Meal Plan I felt sluggish. My energy was down and I felt indifferent about a lot of things. For the first week I felt the Meal Plan was really straight forward and I was surprised at how much food I was eating. In fact, on a few days it was hard to eat everything on the list. From the second week on it's become much more natural. Not only am I transforming how I eat but I understand why I am doing it. I'm starting to make educated substitutions to the meals and I really feel that this is a foundation of success. Since following the plan I'm amazed at how much more energy I have. Today, a vacation day, I have rearranged two rooms of furniture, including bringing two awkward shaped, 70 pound end tables down 13 stairs. I also cut an armoire that had been taking up space in my family room for two years in half using a manual saw, and carried it to the curb for the trash. The changes in my body have been measurable and mental. In two weeks I've lost close to three pounds and an inch off my waist. When I went to the pool (three times) this weekend I felt a lot more comfortable in my suit. I feel a lot better about myself. I have found the enjoyment of eating to be much easier than I expected. I've always looked at eating programs as restrictions on what you can eat. This is structured more as a lifestyle change. I'm actually eating more than I used to with the same caloric content. I would recommend the Meal Plan to anyone because it's not a diet or a fad. It's a way to adjust your eating habits and see results in a reasonable amount of time. It's not a quick fix, it's a lifestyle change.

I first began taking classes with Sharon about eight months ago. I had slowly let myself go over the past two years and a close friend of mine invited me to join her for Boot Camp on Thursday nights at Beech Acres. I was always a pretty active person in the past and thought, oh what the heck. The first night of class came and while I was waiting for class to start my train of thought turned more towards, what the heck was I thinking.....?! As the hour passed, I thought I was either going to pass out or throw up multiple times. When the class ended though, I felt amazing! The weeks passed and I found myself looking forward to working out. I started talking with others in the class and realized I was not only working out but having a good time while doing so. When the session ended I knew I had to sign up again, this time I added Tuesday nights as well, then Monday Core Strength classes, and then I started adding Wednesday and Saturday Metabolic Explosion Training classes too. I started to realize just how stressed and unhappy with myself I was before I began these workouts. I stared to see results as well and therefore pushed myself further. Since starting Cross Training Circuits in February of 2016, I have lost a total of 35 lbs. I have shaved 5 minutes off my mile time (let's face it, I couldn't run at all before) and have gone down 4 pants sizes!!! I am changing out my closet and finding so many clothes that either used to be too tight or never fit, are now fitting and even too big. It is just such a great feeling to actually be able to fit in clothes I never thought I could. I now treat this as a lifestyle, where both working and working out are essential. I know without the workouts the stress alone gets the better of me. The fact is, I genuinely enjoy them. I have made some great friends along the way that are nothing but supportive as well. Sharon is a phenomenal trainer that works you hard and keeps you motivated. I didn't gain the weight overnight and it has taken time and perseverance to lose it. I know I would not be half as successful (if at all), without her pushing me and encouraging me along the way. I am so happy I stepped outside my comfort zone eight months ago to start this journey. I know I have a lot further to go but now have confidence I can eventually get there! I can honestly say I have never felt this good and healthy in my entire life.

After taking two sessions of Core Strength I wanted to continue the class but because of my schedule I could no longer do it so I asked Sharon for an online workout focusing on my core. I’m so glad that I did this!! I love the challenge the workout gives me, and because of its flexibility, I’ve been able to actually work out more. Instead of just going to class one time a week, I’ve been able to complete the work out 2-3 times a week. As a result, I’ve reached one of my goals – 10 V-ups in a row on a regular basis. In the past I was lucky to get 5 or 6 in a row. I would recommend online workouts to anyone that has a busy schedule or doesn't think that they have time to exercise. Even if you can’t fit a complete workout in every time, you can at least find 15-20 minutes to do some of the program.
I want to thank you for Boot Camp - after class one I felt more energized. In week one I was unable to do a push up or (the dreaded) in and outs. This week I can see marked improvement - sometimes getting a real push up or 2 in instead of those on my knees, and at least being able to balance on my butt for in and outs- which was impossible 5 weeks ago. Yay. Thanks again- I really enjoy Boot Camp and your approach and personality. ;)

Since turning 50 a few years ago, my body was changing in ways I didn’t really like and I was hoping to, if not reverse, at least slow down the changes. I've put on weight and things aren't in quite the right places anymore. After just 3 months of Boot Camp and 1 month of Metabolic Explosion Training class, I really like the changes I'm seeing! The muffin top is starting to disappear and my clothes are fitting much better. And for the first time ever, I'm actually enjoying group exercise. Your classes are fun despite what I may say or look like when I'm in the middle of one! I am also definitely stronger and have more endurance. I've come a long way from that first workout! I feel GREAT! I really wish I hadn’t waited so long to start. If I could talk with someone who is hesitant to start, I would say: Don’t wait! The sooner you start, the better you’ll feel! Step away from the computer and all of that “advice” that is floating around on Facebook. Sharon knows what she is doing and the results are the proof. We have fun too!

I loved learning something new in TRX / Rip Trainer Class and pushing myself and my muscles. The next day I definitely knew I had worked out!! I also enjoyed pairing with a classmate. It was great to have the support and encouragement. Can't wait for the next one and bring on the side planks!!!

Just want to let you know I had the best physical ever!! I had not been for a physical for about 2 1/2 years but at my last one, my cholesterol was 224, with my bad cholesterol high and good cholesterol low. Now my cholesterol is 180. All of my risk factors are gone due to eating much better and consistent exercise. Thank you for keeping me motivated, healthy and your MET classes are a lot of fun!!!

I'm in my 60s and since my husband passed away 3 years ago, I haven't wanted to start much of anything. My daughter Erika has worked with Sharon for more than 2 years, and pushed me to start with Personal Training. I'm glad she did. I already feel better about myself, and would encourage others to not be like me. I wasted a lot of time. I mixed vanilla egg whites and chocolate Muscle Provider with a teaspoon of natural peanut butter, and then froze it. IT ROCKED! What a totally delicious sweet treat. I’ve also drank the chocolate egg whites and vanilla egg whites as a protein drink, right out of the refrigerator, and found them tasty! I made my mom and French toast with chocolate egg whites today. In hers, I used vanilla Muscle Provider, and in mine, I used chocolate Muscle Provider because when it comes to chocolate, my opinion is go big or go home. Delicious – we both loved them!

I’m 61 and have been working with Sharon for a couple of years. Exercise is important to me because my mother’s quality of life was severely compromised by heart disease during her later years so I have a genetic predisposition for heart disease, as well as high blood pressure. Being active and controlling my weight are important for me to prevent the heart disease that runs in my family. About two years ago, my friend told me about Sharon’s Boot Camp. I decided to try it and started going once a week. What I really like about Sharon’s training is that it is a total body workout…it is hard, but do-able at your personal best. After about 8 months, I added a Metabolic Explosion Training class. These are very effective workouts in a moderate amount of time. I can make myself finish, because each move is 40 seconds and Sharon really motivates you to finish. Before doing Sharon’s classes I was beginning to feel some discomfort in one of my knees and one of my shoulders. I was attributing these aches to “aging”. After 4 weeks of class, these discomforts went away – strengthening the muscles has been such a benefit. Because I enjoy strength training with weights, I have also had Sharon provides me with an effective online fitness program using hand weights and body weight. I do these 2 to 3 times a week at home. Since working with Sharon, I have more energy and stamina. My sleeping patterns have improved. I have even made Sharon’s brag board on several occasions. But I can honestly say that I cannot believe I can do a push up! In fact I can do 25 push ups at a time. I never thought I would see this day. In addition, I have maintained my health goals. About 3 years ago, the high blood pressure that runs in my family, hit me. With only a low dose anti-hypertension medication and consistent exercise and weight management, and a healthy diet, I have controlled my blood pressure. Also in the past year, I have reduced my overall cholesterol by 28 points. Now, I like that I am feeling good, having energy, sleeping well, and looking forward to the day. Sharon gives us very effective workouts in a moderate amount of time. She ensures that you perform the move to get the most out of the exercise. I love the variety. Sharon keeps it fun and is very motivational.

There are so many confusing research studies out there that make my head spin.. eat carbs, don’t eat carbs, eat fruit, don’t eat fruit. So I thought getting a meal plan by a nutrition expert would calm my uncertainties. Before starting the Meal Plan, I was unmotivated, out of control and sluggish. The Meal Plan is awesome! Almost everything on there I already ate and liked, so putting them together at the right times was very satisfying. I put foods together that I never thought of and loved, like mixing cantaloupe with cottage cheese and walnuts with yogurt. It is easy to follow and satisfying. I’m proud of myself for doing so and feeling more energy.

After my daughter was born in 2009 I did Weight Watchers. I was successful meeting my weight loss goal but it didn’t stick. The only reason I lost the weight was the hours of calculating and planning I did to figure out points. Not so realistic for the long term for me. I also didn’t care for their substitutions - lots of processed snacks that weren’t very appealing. Sharon’s Meal Plan seemed limiting at first, but as I got more comfortable and knowledgeable it got easier and easier, and has a lot of flexibility for preferences and hectic schedules. Prior to working with Sharon, I tried Weight Watchers and counting points was annoying. I did different trendy workout videos at home but it’s different than someone standing in front of you, correcting your form and motivating you. It also helps that in her classes you have other participants there doing the same things you are, struggling and succeeding right along with you. And they cheer you on too. That atmosphere is so motivating to me. Not long after trying Boot Camp with Sharon, I started on one of her Meal Plans. I had lost some weight on my own and had hit a plateau. I needed something new to get me over that hump. Food had always been such a big part of my life, a source of comfort. I was afraid to give that up. I didn't want to be bored with my meals and I didn't want to have to make separate meals for my family. The Meal Plan was more than enough food to keep me satisfied and there's quite a bit of variety included. I do end up having to cook two different meals some nights but I've learned how to plan ahead and meal prep in advance. And I now even enjoy foods I never did before like salmon, oatmeal, and wheat germ. A little over a year ago, I was prediabetic and it was hard to control my asthma. My A1C number is now in the normal range and my asthma is much more manageable. I also have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome which can cause a lot of health issues and since losing weight, most of my symptoms have disappeared. Now I can lift more than I ever thought I could, and carrying around a 30 lb. 2 year old is much less of a struggle these days. I can run faster and longer than I used to. Running at all is an accomplishment! And I completed my second ever 5k and shaved 10 minutes off of my time. I have so much more energy and I can keep up with my busy boys. I went from a size 20 to an 8/10. Now I can fit my entire body in one leg of my old jeans.

After following Sharon's Meal Plan for a little while, I went out shopping yesterday for some things for Spring Break. I knew my shorts probably wouldn't fit from last summer (size 10) so when I went into the dressing room, I took in a 6 and an 8. To my surprise they were too big...I went out with a 4 and a BIG smile on my face. I had lost 10"! In the past I’ve done Jazzercise and walking. These just did a little for me – no major changes. I had lost some weight but wasn’t seeing the results I wanted to see. After a summer trip, I saw a picture of me with my family and was mad at myself for letting my body/weight be as it was. So I signed up for Boot Camp with Sharon. I still attend Boot Camp twice a week and Metabolic Explosion Training class twice a week! I am also doing Meal Plans with Sharon. I didn’t realize how much I needed to eat to lose the weight! So far I have lost about 22 pounds from when I started. I’ve gone from a size 10 to 4. I can see a difference in my arms, legs, booty, and stomach. I have more energy, strength, and I feel good about how I look. I have also met a lot of really nice people in the classes. Thinking back, when I joined Boot Camp, I thought this is going to kill me. I could hardly move the next day! BUT I did go back. I did start to see the changes…my energy level went up, I felt stronger, I had compliments from my husband on how fit I looked, and I was losing weight! When I run into people who haven’t seen me in a while and they ask me if I’m still walking my 5 miles. I tell them that I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted and moved on to Boot Camp and MET and that I’ve started eating healthier on the Meal Plan. I wish I had done it earlier! If someone is having trouble committing or in need of accountability, I would tell you to just do it. You aren’t going to know if it’s for you unless you try. Yes, it may be hard in the beginning, but it gets better. Not because it gets easier…your body will get stronger and you will have more energy. AND after you see the results…you’ll be hooked! Sharon is committed to help her clients succeed. She gives me the support I need when I need it, and she works with me on my crazy schedules to make it work for me. I tried Atkins.....that got the weight off quick but it did not stay off because who does not like bread. I tried online Weight Watchers but you can eat anything as long as you do not exceed the points. I may have lost weight but I was not eating enough of the right foods. I went to calorie counting with Fitness Pal but again it left decision-making to me without guidelines. I knew what the right choices were but I gave into temptations that used up the points or the calories. This Meal Plan works because there are guidelines that make sense. It takes into consideration your activity level along with reasonable goals. Filling your meal with the right foods reduces the temptations greatly!I was very hesitant myself but the results are proven. It works! It's not just another ridiculous diet but a way of eating and living. Eating healthy daily does have a positive impact. I was eating healthy 60% of the time before I began. Now I am 95%.....I still have some temptations but they are fewer and further apart because I am satisfied each day.

I have struggled with portion sizes, and eating healthy all my life. The Meal Plan has been easy, structured. I feel successful, more energized, healthy, prepared, and accountable. Before starting the Meal Plan, I was working so hard in the gym, at Metabolic Explosion Training class, and at Cross Training Circuits but kind of leveled off as far as physical results. I knew I needed an extra boost. The first week of the Meal Plan was pretty amazing! I like the structure and the fact that I was never hungry but never stuffed after meals. Plus I liked everything I was eating. I now feel better about myself. I know that I'm eating food that is good for me and working toward a big goal - losing 20 pounds. That makes me proud, and it also helps me stay on track. I feel less bloated after eating. And my stomach doesn't LOOK bloated after I eat. I've also had some small changes in my measurements and weight that are encouraging. Slow and steady wins the race as they say! :) I have learned to prepare for unexpected work meetings or when I won't have access to a refrigerator by having protein powder and/or Quest bars on hand at all times, just in case so that I don't get hungry and give in to some junk that's being served at a work event. The Plan is overall easier than I expected. I had become so lazy in my eating habits - I was used to just eating whenever I felt like it. Thought I was generally a "healthy" eater, if I wanted a brownie, I ate a brownie. I was nervous about being more disciplined because it takes a lot of work. But having cheat meals to look forward to makes it easier and less intimidating. I would recommend Meal Plans to others because if you're committed to a healthy you and want real results, why not? It's not "easy" so if you think you're going to magically drop 20 lbs, think again. This is about a commitment to being healthier, and I would be able to do it if I didn't feel like I was willing to put the work in. You have to supplement with your efforts at the gym too! I am really happy so far and can't wait to see my progress as I go!
