What Is Pumping Iron?
Strength training, or lifting weights, is an integral part of a fitness program for people of all ages.
This small group class gives you the strength training component without requiring you to go to a big box gym.
This is for you if
- You want to build muscle or tone your body.
- You know the benefits of lifting weights but aren’t sure what program to follow.
- You want to learn how to properly and safe lift weights.
- You prefer a small group class.
- You want someone to hold you accountable.
What Should I Expect?
A small group setting where you are led through a structured program of lifting weights, targeting different body parts on different days.
What Do I Need To Know Ahead Of Time?
Wear appropriate and comfortable clothes and shoes. Cross-trainers are suggested for this class. Bring water, a towel if you need one, and an exercise mat.
If you do not have a mat, you can buy one from me at your first class.
How Much Does It Cost?
One of the many benefits of working in a private fitness studio is that there are no activation fees, facility fees, maintenance fees, or any other hidden costs. Instead, you are investing your money for the personal attention, experience, and knowledge of the trainer.
I have been attending classes that Sharon offers for nearly 2 years. I also participate in other services she offers, such as personal training and nutrition coaching. I value her knowledge about fitness and appreciate her advice. I especially enjoy MET class because it challenges me, and I like the results I am achieving...greater strength, better balance, and, leaner muscle.

Sharon makes sure you are performing the exercises properly so you don't hurt yourself. I like how the mix of different moves in each class works certain parts of your body. When joining her I had never exercised before and now actually look forward to class and the fun we have while working out.

I have really enjoyed Pumping Iron class as it has given me a chance to really focus on strengthening muscles and moving at a slower pace. I wouldn’t suggest changing anything as I have found it to be a great class. I really think this is a good all around class for anyone from the beginner to more experienced and would encourage new folks to give this class a try before moving on to something like Metabolic Explosion Training.

I took my first Pumping Iron class a few months ago to regain strength after shoulder surgery. I was happy that Sharon added a Pumping Iron class this session because I wanted to add more strength training to my fitness routine which now includes Boot Camp and Metabolic Explosion Training. This class is great because it is small and intimate. Not only is each class different but because it’s not fast paced like Boot Camp, MET, or High Intensity Interval Training there is time to talk, joke and laugh with Sharon and classmates. I feel that adding Pumping Iron has helped me to get stronger. I’ve enjoyed the class and the results!

I initially signed up for Pumping Iron because I wanted to try something new and work on building more muscle. And although I really wasn't sure what to expect, I really enjoy this class. It's a slower pace than what I was accustomed to with Metabolic Explosion Training class, however because of this it allows me to really focus in on and work certain areas of the body each time. Whether it be leg day, arms, shoulders, back or chest, I can be sure I get a total work out of that area every class. Since taking this class, I feel great and can see a difference in my strength throughout my body. I like consistently using weights and challenging myself. Of course the comradery with Sharon and my classmates is a plus! If I could change anything, it would be that it would last longer - time seems to go so fast in this class. I recommend this class to others to see how strong you are and work on building onto that. You may find that you can't lift much at first, and that's ok because before you know it, you'll really be amazed at what you can do. The key is persistence! If you stick with it, you will see a difference in your body and your overall strength. And like most exercise, it's great for your brain and a tremendous stress reliever.

I LOVE this class - we work out hard but have a lot of FUN! Sharon mixes things up each week so that we work on a different body part so you don't get tired of doing the same things. If you haven't taken this class before you should try it to see if you like it. What do you have to lose?

I LOVE Pumping Iron class! Like any of Sharon's classes, you start where you are and do the best you can, while you are challenged to try to stretch yourself just a little bit more. I initially signed up for Pumping Iron because it worked with my schedule. Honestly, I was a little apprehensive - focused weight training - on one body part and strengthening those muscles - was out of my comfort zone, but I trusted Sharon having taken Metabolic Explosion Training and Boot Camp before, and figured I could give it a try. During class, I feel pretty "kick butt" when I challenge myself to do an extra rep or increase the weight of my dumbbells. I leave feeling really strong. If I talked to myself from 2 years ago and said, "YES! You are still committed to fitness, seeing muscle definition, and not intimidated by a 15 lb. dumbbell" I don't know that past Beth would believe me, but I'm so proud of where I am now and where I'm headed with my fitness goals :) The friends I’ve made in class are great too - motivating you to push yourself and we laugh... A LOT. For those considering signing up, I would say DO IT! You have to start somewhere and this is a great place to start and have support to keep you going. It's really cool when you see muscle definition that you have never seen before! You will never be bored!
