Weight Loss Success – Elsa B

Tell us about yourself. I am 46 years old and I am a paralegal at a law firm downtown and I work part time as a concession supervisor at Anderson Township Park District. I have lived in Anderson all my life. I love to play volleyball, playing with all my dogs, riding my waverunner and spending time with good friends. I also enjoy to scrapbook and make my own cards. I have been struggling with my weight since college which has been many years ago. I have played sports and figured that was a good workout but still never lost the weight. Of course, drinking many beers while playing obviously didn’t help. Combining good eating habits and exercise was the answer.

What are your greatest fitness accomplishments so far? Starting Boot Camp. I was very hesitant to join Boot Camp. I figured with how heavy I was, I couldn’t do it. I was wrong. Don’t get me wrong, it was extremely hard. I thought I was having a heart attack on my first day. It did get better but with a lot of work. I hope to move on to her Metabolic Explosion Training Class at some point.

What do you enjoy most about fitness? How I feel after I workout. It is very hard work during but I feel so good about myself afterwards. Every workout I feel is an accomplishment for me.

What are your goals? I have lost 30 lbs on Meal Plans and went from a size 22 to 18 but I would like to lose 30 more. I am at a plateau right now and I need to make small goals for myself. I would love to get to a size 14 but will be happy with a 16. My next goal is to lose the belly fat. My other goal is to be able to join Sharon’s Metabolic Explosion Training class. I am even thinking of trying to run in a small marathon at some point.

What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle? The way I feel now compared to how I felt a year ago. I used to lose my breath playing my sports and even doing everyday work like cutting the grass but not anymore. It makes it all worth while when I haven’t seen someone in a year and they tell me I look great. That is a great motivator!! My friends have told me that I seem much happier since I have lost the weight.

What is the best part about working with Sharon? Sharon has been a great motivator to me and has always given me support. When I have struggled she has always talked to me and has sent me motivational emails. She doesn’t put up with my crap. I owe a lot to her.

If you have tried fitness and nutrition plans in the past, what did you try? Why didn’t they work? How is this plan different? Where do I start? I have tried Diet Center, Nutri-system, Jenny Craig, Richard Simmons Deal a Meal, Weight Watchers, I tried Sensa, a couple of products I ordered off of the internet, I joined Golds Gym,Victory Fitness, many other diet centers that have gone out of business. I am not sure why they didn’t work. Maybe because I really wasn’t ready to make the commitment to lose the weight. I think the reason Boot Camp has been successful is because I saw results right away which made me more motivated to keep going. I didn’t see results with the other weight loss programs I tried and that is why I quit them. I started the Meal Plan in February and having a plan telling me what I need to eat each day made it much easier for me to lose the weight. The plan was very easy to follow and the food was easy to make. With the summer coming I was very busy with both my jobs and thought it might be easier to try the Fresh Food Delivery service. It made meal time much faster and easier. The food is great and the vegetables were fresh even after being frozen. It does seem expensive but if you take what you spend at the store it comes out cheaper. Both plans work, as long as you stick with it.

What advice would you give to others who are hesitant to start? Those who are having trouble committing? Those who need accountability? I would tell them to just do it! If I can do it anyone can do it.

What is the worst part about working with Sharon? BURPEES!!!!! That is all I need to say about that.

Any other comments you’d like to share. I would and have recommended Sharon’s Boot Camp class to anyone. I can’t thank Sharon enough for sticking with me and helping me out when I needed it and even if I didn’t think I needed it. I still have a long road ahead of me and it isn’t going to be easy. Everyday is a struggle but with Sharon’s support I know I will be able to accomplish my goals. I am glad she has stuck with me.
