Protein Bars and Protein Chips

Protein bars and protein chips can be part of a healthy lifestyle. You can either bake your own protein bars, cakes, and breads or choose to buy them. Prepackaged bars are not all the same though. Most are high in calories, laden with fat and sugar, and made with fillers and preservatives. This is why I recommend the original Quest Nutrition bars. They are gluten-free, soy-free, contain no added sugar, and are a good source of fiber.

Quest also makes protein chips that are baked, not fried. They are salty and crunchy like potato chips but without the corn oil, vegetable oil, sugar, salt, malt vinegar powder, dextrose (another form of sugar), and other non-natural ingredients that most contain. Instead, the first ingredient in Quest chips is protein and the second is potatoes. They are also gluten-free and soy-free. Perfect for you, or for your kids in their lunches or as an after-school snack.

These protein bars and protein chips are easily an integral part of a balanced diet.

I am a big fan of the Quest bars!!! I always have one either in my lunch bag or in my backpack. If I forget to pack it, I have this empty this feeling!!! I am on-the-go all the time and I try to make healthy food choices. I know I'm succeeding by eating one of these. There are a lot of other "protein" bars out there that I have tried, but...after I eat a Quest bar it keeps me full and keeps my energy level up! I love the Rocky Road and the White Chocolate Raspberry Quest bars!! These are two of my top flavors! But the Mocha Chocolate Chip is so super YUMMY!!!  I like the chunks of chocolate in it! It is my second favorite, next to Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough!

I like the Chocolate Brownie Quest Bar. I don't feel hungry for a long time after eating it because of the combination of high levels of both protein and fiber, and low net carbs.

— Julie

I just ate my first Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Quest bar - on the way home from Metabolic Explosion Training class. It was so good. The flavor reminds me of an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. I'd definitely eat this again!

— Eileen

I really, really, really like the Blueberry Muffin Quest bars! I ate both at room temperature but will definitely bake into cookies when I get my full box!!!!

— Sue

OMG! The Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Quest bar is even better than I dreamed. I can't wait to get some more and make COOKIES!!! Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Quest bars are a close second, but this is definitely my favorite flavor!! It seriously tastes exactly like an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie.

Tonight I tried the Blueberry Muffin Quest bar after Metabolism Explosion Training class. It was really tasty. I ate half at room temperature and microwaved the other half for 10 seconds. Warming it up really made it taste like a yummy sweet treat. Reminded me of a blueberry pop tart or muffin. It's good! I bet the bar would be delicious baked into cookies! If you like blueberry, you will like this bar. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Quest bar was delicious!! Reminded me of a Reese's Cup but with a chewy texture. Happy this flavor is now on the "Sharon-approved" list!

— Eileen

The Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Quest bars are amazing, and as you know, I'm not even a fan of oatmeal.

A frozen Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Quest Bar is soooooo good. It's like eating homemade cookies while satisfying my craving for something sweet! And the Mocha Chocolate Chip is yummy...tastes like drinking rich-flavored coffee with a hint of chocolate.

— Roz G.

I give Chocolate Peanut Butter Quest bars two thumbs up!  My favorite Quest bar is Rocky Road but the new Chocolate Peanut Butter is a very close second.  If you like Reese's Cups, then I definitely recommend giving these Quest bars a try. And the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Quest bars are a family favorite. I make sure our college kids always have some on hand.

I was kind of skeptical about the Peanut Butter & Jelly Quest Bar but I tried it and loved it. It tastes more like a peanut butter bar with a hint of fruit as opposed to a PB&J sandwich. I ate it out of the package but I'm sure it could be frozen too.

I am so excited about the Quest Chips. What a great way to get your salt fix without the guilt! I really liked the Sea Salt - and am excited to try other flavors. They are super crunchy and satisfyingly salty. ;)

— Beth M.

OMYumminess!!!! Wow! So I'm in Kroger parking lot and thought oh I'll just try one BBQ protein chip, that lead to several, then I had to force myself to stop.... Holy guacamole!! The barbeque flavor is awesome!!! I cannot wait to order a box or 4!!!!

I like the Chocolate Brownie Quest bars. they travel well so it's much easier to prep and stay on plan when away from your home kitchen. The Quest Cookies & Cream bars, along with Rocky Road and Blueberry Muffin are fan favorites of my kids - who are not the best protein eaters. I started giving these bars to my kids after my son's weight percentile declined and his pediatrician recommended more protein in his diet. Quest bars are a fast and easy snack for both kids, and I can take them anywhere. I can also relax at dinner instead of fighting them to eat “just 3 more bites” of their chicken, and it's mom-guilt free because I know it has good nutrients!

Quest bars keep me out of trouble!  My early work day starts with Carbmaster yogurt and berries.  On some days by 9:30 or 10 a.m. I am having a Quest bar to tide me over til lunch which could sometimes be very late.  On other days the Quest bars are my lunch. And then there are days they may be that late afternoon snack when I am stuck late at work.  They are very convenient and filling when schedules of the day are erratic, and they keep me from reaching for less healthy snacks or junk meals. Mocha Chocolate Chip is a good choice if you like chocolate and coffee - both flavors are very evident. I also recommend Vanilla Almond Crunch, Rocky Road, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Peanut Butter Supreme. I eat my Quest bars right out of the wrapper and find them very tasty.  I highly recommend them for busy people.

— Martha L.

I enjoy the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip and Rocky Road Quest bars. Both are very tasty but my favorite is oatmeal chocolate chip. I eat them for either breakfast or lunch, and like them microwaved for 20 seconds.

— Jenny G.

The Mint Chocolate Chunk Quest bars are yummy!!  They are a genuinely tasty treat that are better than a candy bar. I have used them as a snack or a meal. I always keep a bar in my purse, car and work desk. My schedule can be crazy at times so it’s nice to know that I can reach for a healthier choice instead of fast food. If you love chocolate mint as much as I do, this definitely is worth it.

— Linda C.

I like Quest bars because they are soft and taste like muffins. Other kids should try them because they'll think they taste good too.

— Finn B., 5 year old aspiring sports athlete

I have a new favorite Quest bar - Mocha Chocolate Chip. I love coffee and this is like a good cup of coffee wrapped up in a protein bar! And the Coconut Cashew bar is GOOD too. The coconut flavor is stronger than the cashew. I also tried the Lemon Cream Pie. It reminds me of the Lemonade cookies, the lemon shortbread cookies, that the Girl Scouts sell. If you like those, you'll enjoy the Lemon Cream Pie Quest bar.

— Michelle S.

The Quest Chocolate Peanut Butter bars are as good as they sound!  I cut up the bar and baked it into little cookies.  They were crunchy on the outside and a bit gooey on the inside.  The chocolate/peanut butter flavor is a great combination because both flavors are distinct.  It tastes like you are eating something that is not "Sharon-approved".

— Kristi S.

Mocha Chocolate Chip Quest bars are a new favorite! Most people hear "mocha" and think "coffee", but I think there is really just a hint of coffee flavor that enhances the chocolate flavor. So delicious! Will definitely be ordering this.
